Hi all,

Our B8 A4 Avant's engine undertray has lost a fastener and is hanging down on the driver’s side.

The drivers side with the fastener missing looks like this:
A4 undertray fastener gone

The passenger side which still has a fastener looks like this:
A4 undertray fastener good

And the front of the car looks like this:

I've found this pack of fasteners on eBay.

Can anyone tell me if they're right? If not any pointers on where to get the correct ones would be much appreciated. Am driving it to the South of France next Monday and want to be sure it doesn't fall off!

They look expensive as you onely need one stick a cable tie in it in till you get one on that image it's the middle one's you need but who knows on size ECT

Okay thanks – yep I could feed a cable tie through the hole visible in the second pic above.

Do you happen to know what these parts are called? Is it the skid pan? And if so is it a speed nut and dowel pin?

Its cheap enough to do it properly. You can get the pin and spring clip as a pair from the dealers / TPS for about £3.

Or try the parts request on here

I don't know if we can post links but also just type "Engine Cover Undertray Fitting Clip Kit Metal Screw Audi" into eBay

Sure its the same as one I've just replaced, from dealers 48p each

Dealer will sell them cheap enough to be honest, or just cable tie like I did on my B7 A4. Either will do the job.

If you need to know the size you can always take out the one from the other side, measure it up and order one that looks similar from eBay that has the same dimensions.

They are just 1/4 turn fasteners (sometimes known as DZus fasteners) and almost everyone sells them.
