I thought I’d start a nice progress thread around my 2016 Nogaro blue 8V. Personally this is just a place for me to see my car evolve.

I’m wanting to get to 400bhp and doing some minor cosmetic changes and upgrades but no “Max Power” offensive alterations

Anyway please feel to comment and help my progress!

Here’s my car a few weeks back when I did a full 2 bucket wash, machine polished, resin then sealed.

Thought of changing to carbon mirrors ? Awesome colour tho :)
That’s an interesting thought I’ll look into it! Needs to be gloss carbon though to go with the other gloss bits or gloss black maybe

Sorted the terrible VAG corroded hubs and disc surrounds

Though looking at these rear discs they probably need replacing soon

carbon caps match in with the black from a distance, only when you get up close when you notice them, black caps are boring imo

Yeah they are glossy, can be had for around 160/170 ish from eBay (I bought mine from Sytner Audi for 170) - https://tagmotorsports.com/media/catalog/product/cache/1/image/9df78eab33525d08d6e5fb8d27136e95/c/a/carbon-mirrors.jpg
I loved the chrome ones before I bought the S3, but then just got fed up quickly with how dirty they looked everytime I got in the car. Plus I think they look good with the other black features.
and want to come do my hubs? lol

Carbon mirror caps look nothing like the high gloss door mirrors car even from a distance

Lovely car you have mate, you've got the cars paint work in a very nice place indeed.
Now if your planning on adding another 100 bhp, best sort out that bouncy castle S3 suspension and add wider tyres and bigger alloys preferably Audi Oem or Replicas from likes of the RS6....keep it classy looking.............and dont stray too far the OEM look....

True the dead bodies do show up a lot on the silver caps...black/carbon would be better, are these real carbon fibre?

Suspension yes definitely, I’ll wait for the warranty to run out for that one.
Not sure about changing the wheels and tyres just yet. That’s quite an expensive upgrade but i understand the need for more width;)

Beautiful Noggy Blue S3 :icon thumright:

The mirror caps would look great changed to black or carbon. To be honest, I’d just keep it the way it is and invest on a few OEM upgrades.

Fitted the first performance upgrades over the weekend to the Nogaro; very minor increases to power and sound but looking forward to the drives to work

Added some of these quirky puddle light Audi rings today. Pretty decent I must say, I wasn’t expecting them to be very clear but they really are!

I can’t believe Audi wanted to charge £100 for a set of these! I got them off Amazon for a fraction of the price with nearly 5* reviews I thought I’d give them a go.

Can't beat a noggy blue

Cheers guys, I came across this colour while i was looking for a Sepang blue S3 and luckily only a 60 mile drive away. When i saw it in the flesh i had to have it. I didn't realise it was such a rare colour.

Really like the Viper green too though! What are the other Audi select colours?

There's hundreds of Audi exclusive paints available and Nogaro Blue is one of the more popular one's as its been around a good while

The Rs2 the one with Porsche engine in it and Nogaro blue is a Porsche colour not a Audi colour
It’s nice to have a colour with such heritage, I didn’t realise this was used on the RS2

So today started out with some fairly decent weather with the threat of only light rain. So I set out to get the bumper off the Nogaro to fit my RS grille and Maxton splitter...

Then this happened
C2B26F79 7F53 44C7 A955 D7110BDF3604

A big *** storm hit. Not the best weather when you have those aweful 3 bolts to refit next to the headlights.
Pealing back the inner arch liner is hard enough but the storm really made it troublesome!

Got there in the end once he rain passed

Only the splitter will have to wait for another day as the Mrs would not have been happy!

I’m pleased with the results it matches the honeycomb lower quarters now. I just need to figure out how to fit the S3 badge?

There’s a holder kit on eBay for honeycomb grills I’ll try find the link

@Leevr check it out!

Thanks for the recommend on the grill it fits nicely. Pain in the **** to get the old grill away from the bumper without damaging it though!

Yeah true, I was getting quite wet yesterday so all I was interested in was getting the bumper back on before I drownd. I’ll sort the badge when I do the splitter I think as I might need the bumper off to attach the logo anyway.

I’m not sure what to do about the rear Audi rings now the front rings are black. But if I change the rings on the rear then the S3 logo may look odd?

I actually preferred your car with the S3 grille mate .. There's something about these aftermarket RS3 front grilles that doesn't look right ie they aont identical copies.. ...ie the mount for the 4 circles and the flatness of the honeycomb look wrong

Haha I dont envy you that, I wouldn’t have the balls to even try making those mods, look forward to seeing the splitter.

Stage 1 map it and intake and you should be at 400 bhp or close :racer:

It’s not for everyone I agree. However I was careful to select a high quality one with the rings in the correct place albeit it is a fractionally bigger Audi badge than the original s3 grill. The quality fit and finish of this one is great but no it’s not a exact match to the RS3 grill.

I missed out on an s3 saloon with a honeycomb grill and wanted that grill ever since I saw it. Also @Leevr ‘s viper green with this grill really sold it to me!

Yeah hopefully get that on in a few weeks time! I’ve ripped the maxton designs logo off it already. I’m keeping mine discrete

True I really want that remap but I’m going to play it safe and go for a tuning box for 9months while my warrenty finishes up...Just not 100% which box to go with. I wanted an MTM but they’re like gold dust to find used and far too expensive brand new
