It replaced my 2005 B7 Saloon SE (aka poverty spec). Really going to miss my beloved B7 which often gave me 800 miles to a full tank lol. But in the end the offer of £6k from Highland Audi (diesel scrappage scheme) was too good to turn down, therefore giving me 28% off the list price for my B9.

Lovely B9 Avant....enjoy. I’m sure you notice a massive difference to the B7. The avant really suits white.

Lovely looking car, hope you enjoy it. One small thing, looks like they've put your boot tray in the wrong way round.

I think it's supposed to be reversible, not that I've got mine yet :worried:

Lol I will check out the boot mat later on. Can’t wait to see the Matrix headlights in action once it gets dark.

However theres one or two minor disadvantages versus my V7. I’ve noticed there isn’t much storage space in the glove box and no storage boxes under the front seats and under the headlight dial :(

Also not sure if this is a disadvantage but the sat nav is sd card based on my car. I thought it was all hard disk based now?

Could be, just going off the picture I have in a brochure and it looks odd that way round with the gap between the liner and boot lip

Storage pack option would have taken care of the first issue but it is very stingy of Audi UK not to spec the cars with it. As far as I know, the navigation plus system has the internal storage and also a larger screen so that would have been another cost option.

Regardless, it's a damn fine looking car and I'm sure you will enjoy it.

Black edition works superbly with white. Lovely looking car - and you chose the right engine!

Big congrats on the car. Audi in white looks the part. You got a insane deal with that car. Wow. I remember the Scrappage scheme. It’s how I got my very first new car. You definitely would have been silly not too.

Pity we have to have front plates and ugly yellow rears. I nice touch to finish the black edition off would be black Audi rings front and rear.

If you are going to hold on to this car for a long time I would do a very early oil change after the engine has bedded in. If you had a magnetic sump plug you’ll see what I mean. 9k oil changes regardless (after that)

Yep, getting a £39k list price car for £28k was a deal too good to turn down. The Handover Specialist at Highland Audi was telling that the Govt will reimburse Audi £6k once they have confirmation that my old car has been scrapped. I did feel a bit sad about my old car considering I spent a few £1000s on it in retrofits (eg bi-xenons) and that it was in superb condition.

Thanks for the tip about an early oil change, I'll bear that in mind.

That's a porky pie, this is a manufacturer scrappage scheme and in reality is only an extra £2k as non scrappage qualifying cars were getting a £4k deposit contribution from audi so you only really benefitted if your trade in was worth a good bit less than £2k. Still a good deal for folk like us that did have older cars, mine was booking at £350.

Ah ok. I was only just repeating what you-know-who at Highland Audi told me. Mine was a cash purchase so obviously no dealer deposit contribution. Whatever the ins and outs, it was a cracking deal nevertheless.

Went for a drive last night around a few country lanes to see how the Matrix lights fared. Amazing :)

A few more pics, though didn't take any of the front as the lights were too bright lol

Love the coloured interior LEDs too, missus (she who shall be obeyed) has decided they will be purple!

Does anyone know why on earth the dealer has put in 47 PSI of air in all 4 tyres? Or perhaps they haven't been changed from the Audi factory, ie dealer forgot to check/change them? Tyres are 245/35/R19 and according to the sticker on the drivers door inside, a fully loaded car should have 42 & 38 PSI for front & rears respectively.

Cheers

It's a common 'thing' I think. All VW group cars should have pressures checked when handed over.

Great car. Very similar to mine but I have Daytona grey. I also have purple lights on the inside chosen. I’m glad you mentioned the psi. Mine were almost 50 when I checked them. Madness

Another minor niggle: I've noticed the air con (full not eco) isn't that strong when setting it at auto 21c or 22c, i have the take it down all the way to 18c to get the interior cool...and its hardly gets very warm here in the Highlands (around 17c at present). Is there a bedding in period for the air con? On my B7 the air con was excellent and I can't ever remember having it set below 20c.

Cheers

Also does anyone know if you can set Google Earth to show up in maps/sat nav every time you start the car, instead of having to manually select it in the MMI Audi Connect settings?

Sorry for the barrage of newbie questions!

If you move the AC dial to 20 and push it in so it Auto it should get pretty near to 20 very quickly.

The google earth should remain the default setting once selected on the nav/map setting

Thanks, got the sat nav sorted :)

Btw is possible (ala Google Maps style) to get traffic conditions overlay on the Audi sat nav map? Like:

I have it, if you’re talking about roads being lined red, amber etc indicating traffic conditions. Thought it was standard functionality. I do have the tech pack though, if that makes a difference.

Also, mine was already set up on collection so I can’t help beyond confirming the functionality does exists I’m afraid.

Took the car on the Applecross pass in the Western Highlands today. Quite a tough road to drive on, definitely not for the faint hearted!!
