They tune some highly desirable carsWerent they the ones who had about 600 different companies and kept getting dissolved and ripped off Sedox Remaps a few year back?
M8 I've been tuning cars for 20 years. I know all about Sedox Sunderland. Wouldn't trust them with a shopping trolley. Same as turbo pacs in Durham, they had an horrendous rep as well. I'll admit I was sceptical the first time I went to the performance centre for the first time but all I can go off is the experience I've had, and it's all been good.Did you not read the thread on the Seat Cupra.net forum then? was a good one.
I think so m8. Like I say I know all about the past, and there was a lot more to it than just Dave! I've had 2 cars done both spot on, a mate of mine has his m3 mapped from them which is spot on and and another lad I know has a golf R done by them which is the nuts as well. Have you had a car mapped by them? Like I said before just my personal experience I've had. If in doubt then choose someone elseStill ran by David Appleby?
Well like I say only going off my experiences. I was always used to having a standalone ecu and and tuning that way. I used to have an emerald ecu on my rallycross car which I used to have to travel all the way to Norfolk to see Dave walker every time an upgrade was added to the car. So I think remapping standard ecu's is both good and bad. Its opened up the market but has left it vulnerable to certain people! Like you say the process is easy, I did some for a college project years ago and if I can do it anyone can!!Got to ask why is he now running ANOTHER company....if one was successful, then there would be no need to change name all the time?
Regarding experiences...not me personally as mate had a old golf Mk4 1.8T AGU with hybrid turbo on. Took it to him/whatever company he was running at the time and they supposedly mapped it. Was a revo map they put on and 'tweaked' to match the hybrid.
Heres the fun part.
Revo didnt do a stage 2 or higher map for the 1.8T AGU, so was a stage 1 map, so it was never going to work.
N75 valve wired up the wrong way round
Mapped the car with boost leaks
Probably a load of other stuff, but car never ran right so had to go to R-tech to sort out the **** they left it in and get it tuned properly.
Ive done mapping of 1.8T engines for about 5 year now doign my own custom tunes and have seen many maps by 'well recommended' north east companies and their maps were truely shocking. Over 100% duty cycles for boost or pedal position, lamfa maps setup wrong because their initial definitions were wrong, load under knock maps the same or higher to the primary load maps. Seen lots, and lots of ****.
I like to go where I know the people are trusted and have dealt with them for a long time. A petrol VAG, id only ever go see Nick @ R-tech as I know him really well and the standard of his work is absolute top notch. Was a pain when I wanted my 2.0TDI mapped as I know of the experiences/standard of work ive seen from the NE companies, and many of them are just flash tuners or write files in from the internet or a supplier upstream without having any knowledge of the car or ECU type they are working on. its one thing writing a map to a ECU, thats easy, 4 year old can do that, but knowing the ins and outs and what to look for on pre-remap inspections and how well to tune the car in what way is a totally different ball game.

Will mapping out egr not leave engine check lightId also make sure to get the EGR mapped out.
I sent my ECU away, was without the car for a day or 2 but I knew the guy and trusted him.
Find out where the guy gets his files from.

What engine do you have 143/170 bhpyeah, being mapped for over 40k, into 101k miles now no smoke at all aswell, had no problems
