i always fill up until pump stops (first time) and as car gets run in I am noticing the range increasing. Today at full it is 500 miles. (STD size tank). 1.4 petrol

S4 B9. 420 shown. 400 miles best. Usually about 370miles though.

The range might increase, or decrease, due to the driving conditions dictating the average mpg versus amount in the tank. With the warmer weather you may well be getting improved mpg, I myself easily managed 38 urban...

Good to know, I’d be happy with this on my s4. Although it’ll more than likely be 230 miles for me

It's crap when it's new but levels off. As stated, depends on driving.

Range says 525 to 555 miles on fill up.

Tend to return 525 to empty. My weekly journeys are pretty consistent though with 260 motorway miles in that.

That's the one thing I dislike about my S4. Would it have killed them to put a bigger tank in it! My old A6 did over 500 miles between fill ups so the change was a bit of a shock - if I get 300 from the S4 I'm doing well.

The S4's tank is only 3L bigger than the S3 (58 vs 55L), yet that's quite a bit lighter on fuel. A 65L tank would have been much better in the S4.

Totally agree. I guess it's all down to weight vs performance but the B8.5 had a bigger tank. C6 RS6 had 80L tank I think haha. Spot on with a V10

About 340 for my S5...

Usually 360 on fill up for my S4 Avant, did have 420 the other day but normally I’d be expecting around 320 before the low petrol warning, mix of driving including some ‘spirited’ acceleration out of junctions, roundabouts and bends :racer:
