So today didn't quite go to plan.

Collection was booked for 10am but I didn’t get in the car until gone 1pm. Basically due to the phone booster issue Audi UK hadn’t released the car so the dealership couldn’t tax it. They were extremely apologetic and by way of compensation gave me £250 in accessory vouchers. So back home for a coffee and went shopping on the Audi website. I’ll soon be awash with Audi branded accessories!

Then during the handover I noticed a 2cm scratch across the main brushed aluminium trim piece that runs along the dash below the main screen. Again dealer was very apologetic and it’s already booked in for a replacement trim piece to be fitted.

So not ideal but overall I’m extremely happy. Now I just need to figure out how it all works!

Have Audi got a fix for the phone box booster or have they just disabled it.

Interested what they will do with cars already on the road with it... Like mine

They can't just take a advertised feature away can they?

For now they have just disabled it and said they’ll be in touch once a long term solution has been found.

Welcome to the site. Definitely get some pics up. What options did you go for? 150 or 190ps?

Its the 2.0 tfsi so 190ps. That is the smallest 2.0 petrol in the range. 1.4tfsi is the 150ps engine.

Yes sorry. It’s not like the diesel. Happy driving. Looking forward to your pics. What extras if any did you go for if any?

Congratulations on finally getting the car.

Thanks. I'm made up.

Cars booked in for a new car protection detail/ceramic coat next month and then rear glass tinted after. Can't wait!

Looks great, though personally, I'd leave the glass. I wish the BE came with an option to have normal glass. I just have a thing about the side windows having different levels of tint.

I'm the opposite, plus it helps protect the bin lids.

Horses for courses and all that.

Looks totally awesome. I made your pics bigger so we get to enjoy it more. Would you like a colour banner under your avatar?

What's the issue with the booster box?

Mine has the tech pack with wireless charging and the 'box' I believe

Slightly off-topic but hey it's my thread...

Does any USB cable do for connecting my phone to the Audi Music Interface or do I need a specific type?

Thanks

You need the MMI APP but using Apple CarPlay is much better. Using a genuine or mfi (made for IPhone) lead will do this for you. You also have the option of cd/mp3 in the glove box.

I've got a Google Pixel. I do have the MyAudi app but not the MMIConnect one - not currently compatible with my phone's OS.

Dunno about Pixel 2, I have a Pixel 1. I suspect it does but from what I understand the MMIConnect app doesn’t work with my phones version of Android, 8.1.0.

TBH it didn’t really dilute the experience and the £250 in accessories was completely unexpected. I certainly wasn’t thinking along the lines of compensation when the delay was being explained to me. As for the scratch... these things happen but I’m just glad I spotted it in the showroom. Might have been a different story had I not seen it until I’d got the car home.

More photo’s will come but Car’s already filthy (well to my eyes) but I’m trying to resist the urge to clean it until it’s had its protect detail/ceramic coating applied. Trouble is that’s not until beginning of June (car was delivered earlier than anticipated).

You can do no more harm by giving the car a good wash, the detailer will make good any blemishes or swirls as part of the process anyway. I even washed mine the day before it went to the detailer...

Congrats @DohNut car fits nicely on the drive.
What spec did you go for?
Also what accessories you looking at ?

Thanks ras. Notice how the bushes that lined my drive have all been cut down!

Spec is in my sig. but if you can't see it... Daytona and 19" 10 v spoke alloys (obviously), tech pack, reversing camera, storage pack, extended LED's, flat bottom steering wheel and folding mirrors.

Accessories-wise I got the all weather floor mats with A4 badging front and rear, a fancy Audi Sport key ring, couple of the large Audi Sport umbrellas, 2 packable bags, and a Quattro Heritage bag. Dealer is going to throw in one of those silver ash tray boxes that sit in the cup holders too.

Wish I had storage pack not bothered about the netting on seat backs but would like the rest! When you obtain the accessories be sure to post up some pictures. Some nice stuff there

Your phone is one of the few that supports wireless android auto, if the car does as well though, which is probably unlikely with the A4. The Pixel 2 does also support AA. Seeing as both phones are Goggle products it should go without saying...

Have now racked up 203 miles with first decent run today. Just about the most refined car I’ve owned/driven. Incredibly relaxing and effortless. Interior is superb and it steers well too. Can’t wait to finish running it in and for the engine to loosen up.

There’s something about that new car smell you just can’t beat. Puts a smile on my face.

Yup agree imho no one does an interior like Audi. My car was a big step up from my 18 year old B5.

And less than a week later... some old fool just hit my car.

Actually hit is a bit strong. Was sat in the car in a car park sussing out Android Auto when all of a sudden the car rocked. At first I thought it was some sort of transmission jump (the engine was running) but then when I checked my mirrors there he was right behind me.

Got out and told him I though't he'd just hit my car, he hadn't even realised there'd been contact, and checked my bumper and sure enough there is a scuff on it behind the offside rear wheel. Fortunately it does appear to be cosmetic only and I'm fairly confident it'll polish out easily enough.

Took his name/number but I guess I should've taken a photo of his car and reg too. Oh well...

Ah man. So sorry to hear that. Well that just ruined your day. Hope all gets sorted. We all forget to take photos etc because it’s a shock to the system.

Horrible when it happens and I hope you get it sorted out to your satisfaction. I have had plenty of YOUNG fools drive into the cars I have owned in the past, even myself has done so on one occassion. Only the other day a extremely young person just rode into the back of mine. I was lucky as damage was done though...
