I bought this Active Valve Control last week https://www.active-sound.eu/en/audi/audi-a3/audi-a3-8v/active-valve-control for my PFL RS3 and altough very expensive for what it is, I am happy with the result. I noticed that with the stock software the valves always opened on every start up and then close immediately, resulting in very loud starts, when cold and when hot (as most of you know). I really liked then noise, but the RS3 is my daily and I get up early so it was annoying for the people around me and even at my work.

With these valve control the valves (in comfort mode) stay always closed during start ups, so cold and warm start ups are much more silent, it is a huge difference. The other positive part of this valve control system is that in Dynamic mode the valves are always open, and not only after 3500RPM as before, so I get to enjoy the sound (and the pops and bangs) at lower speeds and lower RPM.

As long as this system is reliable I recommend it 100%!

Sounds like a great solution, like you say it is expensive but it definitely ticks a box.

For €429 the neighbours can put up with the cold start!

The last thing I’d be bothered about is what the neighbours think when I start the car :tearsofjoy:

Unlucky for them then isn’t it haha :racer:

I do have some consideration, my garage is at the bottom of my garden so I sit in the garage until the fast idle goes off before I bring it between the houses.
The sports exhaust sounds gorgeous though

I'm just giving my review and giving information on this item for our cars, if it is worth the money or not is up to each own, for me and my circunstances it is worth it.

I really like to have the valves open all the time in Dynamic. If it was only for the silent start ups maybe I wouldn't have bought it.

Sounds like a good bit of kit, I’ll do the cheaper version and just programme the exhaust flaps to stay permanently open with obdeleven, then if I’m out with the Mrs & wee one I’ll programme them back to normal, it does take a bit longer, I’ve got the Audi sport exhaust and I’m getting the secondary cats bypassed next week so it’s going to sound great

Good to read your finding on it too mate... as long as it works flawlessly for you and does what you need, then it gets a thumbsup :icon thumright:

I leave for work at 5am. I have an 05 s4 4.2 V8 with ported heads and catless Downpipes back to a set of flowmaster deltaforce 40 series mufflers. My neighbors absolutely love how my car sounds, but they have made comments about me having the loudest car and the earliest job on the cul-de-sac lol.

Had the same set up on my s4, must have ****** of my old neighbours:)

my aunt lives 50 meters/3 houses away from mine, and she could hear me every morning when I left for work, and my car is stock pfl rs3 with sport exhaust only, with this new valves system she doesn't hear me anymore :)
