Guys

Has anyone retro fit or gone aftermarket with extended leather pack?

I did this on my 8P S3 where I got the armrests and centre console supports done in leather - was a great job but ideally I would like OEM

Has anyone the extended leather part numbers or if anyone has the leather, can you PM me you chassis number so I can get the part numbers please

Seconded on this!

Have you tried the part request forum? It's really good and I got a reply pretty much instantly from Crewe Audi for the arm-rests in a different colour. I guess it's just a variation on that code.
 
I'm fairly sure you'll require a new centre console as the one for mono pur / extended leather has an inset step in it to accommodate the thickness of the padded part.

The armrests can be retrofitted but not the kneepads as they are glued on. Will require a new console.

I did this to my A3 8P and when I figured out that I could not retrofit it all to my A3 8V I decided on purchasing the mono.pur package from stock.

I'm going to do this for my armrests at least, it looks like quite an easy job (door cards off, 2 screws and a heat clip).

If you find the part number for monopur black with white stitching let me know. All I can find on EKTA is black with red stitching, which whole cool won't go!

I retrofitted the knee pads and have the armrests at home waiting for a free weekend to put them on. The knee pads are sonic welded and they only come as a whole center console, but the center console is surprising inexpensive (relatively) and the knee pads are quite easy to pop off and re-glue.

The armrests though are actually more difficult than expected, and it's a b!tch to find... They're heat welded on the door panels and once removed the replacement need to be screwed using self tapping screws. I have all the parts now and total cost about US$500ish? So it's really a personal choice...

I had to do the knee pads coz the plastic ones are squeaking like mad... and once that, the armrest just stood out like a sore thumb... Will post the info when home tomorrow if anyone is interested...

I'd love to see a guide on how to do the armrests if you have a moment, though from your description Im a bit deterred!

The armrests are off eBay.de just email every doorcard seller and ask them if any is willing to part with just the armrest.. I got these for Euro 300 shipped to me, sounds bad, but not when you realized they're US$800+ here https://www.bks-tuning.com/oem-audi-a3-s3-rs3-8v-wrapped-door-arm-rest.html And for the black with silver stitching armrests, here're the part numbers for sedan/sportback version:

The self tapping screws according to ETKA are N90840103 and they're shared part across VAG, and I got mine from a Porsche source, and you'll need 40 pcs of them.

And here's the instructions from ElsaWin... Not difficult, just troublesome, I've already drilled all the bonding surface with a 3.0mm drill, the holes are actually already there, drilling only clear out the bonding area should it become blocked when removing the armrests.

Blimey! What a response! Thank you so much @larbel for your detailed reply. I think it looks a touch too challenging for me to tackle on my own. Shame as I think the Soul black/white stitching looks great with the Lunar Silver interior; but I don't reckon I'm ready to do this much work on my new car! Thanks so much for the guide though again - and if you're ever in London I'd love to pay you to do it!

Are the part numbers Sportback/Saloon ?
 
Finally got around to put on the armrest, took me like 2 hours for the driver door since I was testing and trialing, will do the rest maybe tomorrow, now that I know what I'm getting into, it's actually easier than expected, everything went pretty smooth except for getting the mirror control out and pulling off the armrest. As it turned out, Elsawin missed one little point on the instructions, at the very tip of the armrest where there're two screws, it also has a welded tab which needs to breakoff before you can pull off the handle.. Took me quite a bit to figure it out... It shouldn't take me maybe 30 mins each now for the rest.

The armrests? I bugged the heck outta a German seller on eBay.de and got them for 300 Euro shipped LOL... The screws I got them locally from a Porsche shop. On mine, even though Elsawin mentioned 10 welded points, only 5 of them were welded, the other 5 were screwed down, I did reuse those 5 and then 5 of my own. Not sure if all of the armrests are like this yet, will find out tomorrow. If so, you'll still need like 20 screws for SB/Sedan...

All done, 5 extra screws each needed for the front doors, and 10 screws each needed for the back so you'll need total of 30 screws for SB/Sedan.

I've a hatch but have ordered the rear ones as well - how many screws will i need?

I only ordered one bag of that part number above which cost £0.28 so Im assuming thats 10 pieces?

!!! Where did you order them??? Cancel it!!!! Hatch's armrests are longer!!!!!! I've already stated they're for SB/Sedan, not hatch!!!!!

And I paid Euro .22/screw so £0.28 mostly likely is one pc only... Will try to find the correct part number for you...
 
Never mind, I didn't know they have extended leather for the hatch's rear too... Anyway, here's the hatch's ElsaWin, looks like you'll need 14 pcs per door at the front (Some of them might actually be screw instead of welded tho), and then 12 pcs per panel at the back, so total of 52 pcs!

Does this mean the armrests are the same for the sportback and the saloon, thus interchangeble? I'm close to buying a set for my saloon, but they came from a sportback
 
Ok tried it and it fits. Part numbers for the sportback and sedan are the same for the armrests in the doors. Front and rear. At least for the 2014 models :)

The armrests for the saloon and the sportback might be the same, but the door cards are not, at least the rear ones. I bought a saloon leather interior for my sportback and I was unable to fit the rear door cards because the upper part of the door card is longer with a wider cut out for a window frame on the saloon than on the sportback. And this is when the guide on swapping the armrests becomes especially handy for me, because I have to move the extended leather armrests from a saloon door card to my original one.

I'll also need to move the door card leather insert to my original door card. Does anyone know how to do it? It's glued on and I'm wondering if it was safe to warm it up with a heat gun and pull/unglue.

Another question is about shortening the armrests by 0.2 mm at the indicated in the manual locations. Did you really do it?
 
Apologies for resurrecting an old post but I've just completed a swap from my standard arm rests to extender leather.... with the added OEM Carbon fibre as an extra bonus :rockwoot:

I've been hunting these things down since buying the car (RS3) back in 2017. Crescendo red stitch is rare!

I sourced the cards via a facebook group, which were a bit shabby to say the least. But a little clean up and by following the guide above I managed to remove the existing and install the new arm rests. The rears are harder than the fronts as they were all plastic welded on my car Fronts were 50/50 screws/plastic welds which makes putting them back to gether much easer.

Anyway, very pleased with the result and completes my retro RS Design pack upgrades on the interior...

With red stitching? No I don't think so - came across one or two with white stitch.

Ok I have finally done this now with the help of the fitting instructions on here . Bought a spare set of door cards to help me . I couldn't find the 3 door armrests anywhere and around £160 each for leatherette from audi . I stripped the spare cards and sent away to a contact of Robin the oem light man on here . Many thanks to you . I took photos and measurements from my neighbours rs3 showing stitch and size . He returned samples of leather and stitch which looked spot on . Off the armrests went . Front only not too bothered about rears . I expected them to be good buy wow not this good . They are a exact match to audi and real leather instead of the fake stuff audi use,you would not spot any differences in workmanship id say they're better . I reassembled on my door card which I'd say the total time from card off to card on was 1 hour each side . I'm so happy with them . I'd got the leather knee pads a while back but wish I'd found this guy prior . The stitch and leather matches the seats armrest gear knob and gaitor looks great . Ive just sent him my tt8s gear knob and gaitor for a alcantara trim

I've pm you both if you want the a good match to oem which mine is spot on tell him same ad Tony's. He's also done my gator and shift knob alcantara for my tt and it's amazing quality
