Before I get shouted at, I have done a search and all I could find on here is FL RS grill fits. Has anyone attempted it on a PFL. and if so, is it a simple job or one to steer clear of. I'm not trying to make a fake RS, simply because, I have an S3. I just like the honeycomb design. With everything else I'm doing this will just finish the look I'm going for.

I don’t think the process of fitting will be much different ?

There are a number of threads on it.

I have a grille which is due to be fitted next week - infact one of the grilles I have is from AliBaba and the other is an OEM PFL RS grille.
I’m not looking to pretend, it won’t wear an RS badge but like you preferred the honeycomb as my car isn’t a black edition

Be interested in seeing how your respective grills come along. A fellow non BE/BSP PFL here. I'd quite like to maybe go along the US spec grill route as think it suits the PFL front.

So I haven’t picked the car up yet but have had this as a teaser pic...

Will have the plate in the window but really don’t fancy paying £140 odd quid for an OEM plate holder.

Anyone have some good alternatives for me ?

Will post up proper pictures over the weekend.

Transfer sticker plate on the nearside front bumper with the headlight washer cut round so it still works. How legal ????

I done this my self and it's not to bad really if you know what your doing. Just have to be patient as it's a little fiddly, and you don't want to snap anything.

And you’ve never had any issues with the side plate ?

What are the legalities if the sticker ?

I don’t believe having reg plate on windscreen is legal as the angle and reflection prevents it being read by ANPR,

A reg stuck to the side of car I’m unsure of, all depends if it obstructs ANPR. Take it to a Shell petrol station that uses ANPR and ask the attendant if they were able to detect your plate :)

Have you had an MOT yet? that's a good indicator of legality. Don't and can't see the age of your car.

It due in August so I'll see then ha.

You could always go to mitsubishi and get a number plate holder for an evolution IX. Would need drill the bumper to mount it. This is my old car
You can see what I'm on about.

There's a plate holder that goes to your towing point but it wouldn't look good with our plate size.

just had an MOT with mine on and passed with flying colours

If you need a step by step I can try and write all the bits down from when I did mine

@Tom Shields .How the he'll do you get the lower portion of the grill off. For the life of me I can't see how it comes off. It needs to go forward, but can't. It's trapped by the lower trim.

Ah man that looks spot on. I’m going to buy the same splitter and I’m gonna have to get the grille too now
Just to let you know the splitter comes with bolts and nuts. Modification of the undertray that fits in behind the bumper is needed.

looks good, i did this within a week of owning the car, and put it back and messed the front sensors up, had to swap it back to the original otherwise audi wouldnt look at it. i actually like the slated black grill aswell

Looks awesome. I imagine a VCDS is need to reset the airbag light but not sure why it has flagged.

What were the modifications, was it just drilling an area out for the bolts?[/QUOTE
I started the car with both bumpers of and plugs disconnected. So I believe I've caused it to flag a Fault that really wasn't there, cars in on the 18th for rear discs and pads, I'll get them to reset the fault code. Yes I'm a sick for starting the car with plugs undone, but I was just eager to hear the milltek.
Yes, without taking the black (brown) in my case undertray that is part of the bumper off you can't get to the back side of the bumper to put the nuts on. Then as I eluded to previously the bolt shank and nut occupy the same space that the undertray need to fit back to, hence the need to drill a relief so the tray can be refitted.

Was this an eBay purchase? I’m after the same grille

EBay from NI, ebay number 332591739798. Only thing is that it doesn't come with the housing for the thermostat plug, which originally sat behind the S3 grill. I've had to secure the sensor to the headlight washer hose. Still works fine.

Started the car with both bumpers off. Confused the car I'm guessing. In Audi tommorow get them to reset it.

I got two number plate self tapping screws from halfords to fix the back board, the plate holder has recessed hole fixings to locate into two blanks on the grill. Just need to drill two locating holes in the grill. and I used number plate sticky pads to attach the plate, so I didn't have screw heads showing. Was going to stick a plate on the nearside bumper bit got talked out of it by my mates. Does detract from the overall effect but still a huge improvement over standard.

With the Maxton Splitter there are a few options when going to buy from Maxton designs, one of these options is “trim restorer” yes adds a little extra cost? Any ideas what this is?

I asked them. It's a clear lacquer to repair chips. Think it would look rotten unless you were very meticulous. I didn't bother. Unfortunately stone chips are common and inevitable .

You have very sensible mates, it does take the full effect of the grille away but still looks better with the plate in the middle than having it on the side (in my opinion)

Saw this on Instagram but not sure if it only works with pressed plates

Ordered my grille form the same supplier and the Maxton splitter to match. I think I’ll probably need some axel stands too so I can get the bumper off. Might try and get it off with jacking one side up at a time, or park the car overhanging a kerb or something

Need to get some pressed plates on that now Levy and it’s basically ******** that! Very nice!
