There seems to be plenty of discussion going on about BSD mixes on ASN, so why not a thread all of its own

I currently have 3 500ml bottles made up with some mixes, all at 50/50

BSD & Chemical Guys V07 Hybrid
BSD & Adam's Detail Spray
BSD & Serious Performance Ultra Gloss Show Detailer V3

I also have some other mixes I haven't had chance to use yet. All in 100ml spray bottles

BSD & Bouncers Done & Dusted (just mixed today)
BSD & C2V3

I've also in the past used BSD & CarPro Reload which was fab

Plenty of reading on this topic here (for the brave lol)

Won't use this stuff but hey ho quick detailers really ain't my bag, but have used/do use a specific drying aid quick detailer,pn a dry car l have used C2v3 + gyeon Cure which was awesome and will try that again soon as l am fed up using wax too time consuming

OK. I'm going to try the BSD/Bouncers Done & Dusted as I've just got some D&D. Next will be the CG V07 mix. I have a mix of BSD/Demon Shine and it's actually rather good, but I tend to use that on others' cars as it's really to save using too much BSD. Also AG Aqua wax - I'm going to try that too. I haven't got any Adams yet, but will try that too some time, thanks @Bristle Hound. So far tried:

BSD/Demon Shine - good, easy to apply, nice gloss finish, no streaks, no grab. Super cheap.

Going to try next (in order):

BSD/Done &Dusted
BSD/CG V07 Hybrid
BSD/AG Aqua Wax
BSD/Adams

Will be interested in seeing all your results...but out of cuirosity, why do you feel you need to mix BSD?

BSD/Bouncers sounds like a good mix though!

Im with @jassyo06 though, C2v3 and Gyeon Cure are hard to beat!

Reload and bsd sounds intresting could you tell me the process ? Would it be good?

Usually the reason for the mix is that BSD can be a bit draggy and can smear. So the other's help with application and finish but retain the properties of BSD. Or you get both properties of the mix while trying to reduce the downsides. That's my take on it anyway, so could be wrong.

So what is the point of spending a lot of money on all of these quick detailers to mix with BSD when you can go and buy one bottle of Gyeon Cure which will out perform any quick detailer or any mixtures of quick detailers

When mixing these sprays is it just 50/50 and nothing else added ? Do you know

@teamspb @Audib5fan - As for feeling the need to mix BSD see @Supa Koopa reply below. Its spot on IMHO

BSD & Reload at 50/50 on our old JCW MINI

@jassyo06 - For me I've always found BSD & bit grabby so hence the mix
As for buying 'all these QD's' I already have them, so its a way of using some of them up
I'm not bothered about durability as I use 1 of the mixes after every wash. I've had some top results with the mixes
BSD is marketed as a QD but in reality its somewhere between a QD & a sealeant
I've seen 3 months from BSD alone

I've tried Gyeon Cure & TBH I'm not a fan. But as we say a 1000 times, 'tis very subjective this car cleaning malarchy

& its a bit of fun ! :thumbs up:

Just a straight 50/50 mix of the products. No reason to add anything else

l have only mixed gyeon cure+ C2v3 together when l was running out of C2v3.....it was like a 10-2 mix....that was 3 years ago,the more l think about it Bouncer's done & dusted is guff as it does'nt bead very well and does'nt last.....so it's in the relegation bin lol, best detailing spray is probably one with a high content of Si02 and there far more expensive.
l bought the glossworks shampoo to save me from using a quick detailer, but what l would recommend is Future Armour from Dodo Juice it's a great bit of kit and last's for at least a month and it's the same price as a quick detailer

Ah right I see makes sense if you didn’t have much left I have a few sprays to get through but will try the recommendation from you one day as it seems to be good stuff from what you are saying

@Bristle Hound - which is your favourite mix so far? I've got some BSD and do like it but I would like to try a mix, so would need to buy the other part. Which would be the best one to start with. I'm thinking V07 but thought I'd check with you. :)

@Supa Koopa - As a 'starter' mix I would go with Adam's Detail Spray & BSD
https://www.prestigecarcareshop.com/products/adams-detail-spray
I've had some great results with this one TBH

Keep an eye on this thread as there are some discount codes from time to time on Adam's products

@Bristle Hound my V07 and BSD has arrived. So should I just mix them 50:50? And spray on wet/dry/either?

@q5man - 50/50 in a clean spray bottle
Best to use it on a dry car as using it on a wet one will only dilute the mix
I do a panel at a time. Don't use in the sun
2 squirts a door. Spread in a straight line then buff on circles with the same cloth. Then buff off with a clean plush MF
Complete the car
Stand back & enjoy !

Well BH, I totally ignored your advice and bought some Chemical Guys V7. I was ordering other stuff and Slim's and they had the V7 so I thought what the hell. So a 50-50 mix and I'm very happy with the results. It's hard to really tell as I only have the wife's mini to try it on which is white silver and a black roof. As everyone know's silver isn't the best for reflections or out and out shine but it was very good and seemed a little shinier than just BSD on it's own. The killer was the roof which is flat black. The depth of shine was brilliant and there was not smears like you can get sometimes with BSD on its own. Beading looks just as impressive, but it was definitely easier to apply so overall I'm sold on the idea. :)

Holy **** that looks amazing

Thanks guys, it came up really well.

Wow, that is some serious shine! Did you polish before BSD&Adams? Or just regular wash. Amazing shine.

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

@q5man we snowfoamed the car and then washed it with Adams shampoo (which smells great by the way!) and a G3 Clay Mitt. The car came up feeling rather smooth. Then we dried it and put 2 coats on.

It has been polished in the past using a green DoDo Juice waffle pad and Scholl S40 but that was last year. It’s still in pretty good shape all things considered.
