500ml bottle of Auto Allure Celator
500ml bottle of .50.Cal Cover Up Filler Glaze (from the sales section on DW)

I've already got both of these. Good products. .50 cal is probably the best filler there is.

Angelwax Bilberry Wheel Wax Sealant for £8.27
Again l think wheel waxes and sealants hold on to the brake dust ... But hey Let us know how it performs
When I get back from my holiday l am going to get some Gtechniq C5 l need to repaint the rear hubs anyway will coat the wheels whilst they're off

@Tashfeen BH Auto Wheels was a good call. I'd say 95% clean with a spray, agitate and pressure wash.

Filler is a choice like any other. If you inherit a second hand car, don't have a lot of kit and are saving for a pro detail why not? It'll improve the look short term and at least it's a conscious choice. There's too much snobbery in detailing, I'd love to see that all gone. Teach a man to fish....

I totally agree with this. I'm not going to spend 3 days machine polishing a car when often it's just as easy to slap on some filler and seal it in. I had 4 hours to do my son's car the other week and 2 to do his girlfriends. That's a whole day of work and no way am I going to machine polish anything in that time. So I did use 50cal glaze on my son's car and topped off with fusso 12. His gf's car got some of that nice new celator filler QD and nothing else. Both looked a treat and both went away as happy as. I love filler glazes lol.

I have been using it for the last 3 years and I must admit It's a brilliant product @scotty76. I used to use Megs Wheels cleaner for my A4s (gone now) and did the job but not as good as BH.

I washed the S4 yesterday for the first time since the coating and man it has made my life easy. Still took me 2.5 hrs but it's better than 4.5

The Emphasis being on poor paint but not on a well maintained paint, snobbery in detailing?? Please elaborate

I bought a bottle of this a few weeks ago because of some 'spots' on the alloys that I couldn't get off, BH auto wheels deffo helped.

Is it something people use every wash though (say a weekly wash), or used only when required?

Depends on the mileage tbh. I have used it once a week, once every fortnight as well as on a 4 weekly basis. If you are washing car on weekly basis I would assume you'd generate less brake dust etc and therefore won't feel the need. However, as it doesn't have any acidic or caustic materials in it my view is that it is safe to use to a weekly basis.

No. I usually just use regular shampoo but like you I'd bought it to shift some stubborn, baked on brake dust. Did the job well!

Just there seems to be a suggestion from the wider Detailing community that if you are not using a certain set of products or techniques then you are doing it all wrong. To me that's not what detailing is about. Everyone has different time and budgetary constraints. I think everyone should be encouraged to have a go and find what works for them. If that means using filler heavy products for a quick fix, for example, then sure why not? Ask questions, form an opinion, have a go, have fun. :)

Talking about using wrong products, I really struggle with the hard water where I live. Any suggestions/recommendations on 0ppm filter set-ups, without breaking the bank?

What issues are you having with hard water? I've got really hard water where I live and as long as I don't let water bake on in the sun it's fine.

I don’t tend to let it bake, but for example would like to rinse off dust that appears soon after washing at times and then use 0 ppm to rinse off and not get water marks, a bit like window cleaners use but not breaking bank

Anyone use one of these with success for instance:

I use one bucket to wash my car **** that 2 bucket crap, but l wouldn't use a glaze pointless as your just "ironing over the cracks" but again some peeps are fine with this, l spent a lot of money on my paint choice for my car so it's only fair to spend as much as I want to afford to get the paint looking it's best,so no ironing over the cracks for me

I normally use the Coronado Cherry air freshener tubs by California scents, but recently they don't seem to be lasting well, or even smelling that strongly. I even bought one from Halfords and that wasn't great either. Actually I'm getting fed up of trying these so called long 'lasting' air fresheners. So I thought I'd get some of these AG Hyperfresh ones, after hearing good things. I hear that Golden Sunset is the nicest, but I wanted to try them all. I did a quick test squirt in my utility room on to an old cloth. One of them smells amazing, but as I tried them all at once I don't know which one caused the lovely, lingering smell lol. Anyway, fingers crossed these will last a bit - I'll try the Golden Sunset first I think.

I'll give the two caps a go, but if it requires more to get it foamy, I'll add another couple of caps.

Let me know how the Gyeon Bathe, and how it compares to the Reset.

JG
bathe+ went well, not a lot of foam with it but nice and slick, also leaves great beading behind, which compared to what I did have, shouldnt be hard...

also, the gyeon silk dryer is a seriously good drying towel, well happy with it.

theres gyeon bathe, bathe+ and bathe essence.......i think bathe is just basic soap, bathe+ has sio2 in it for hydrophobic tackle, and bathe essence i dont really know..
car acted as if i had just put wetcoat/hydro2 on it though.

towel is £14 i think, got 80% of the water of the whole car with ease, just ready to go over with a drying aid and some eagle edgeless clothes.
