What have you done to your Audi A4 B7 today?

I get you.

As you say they are a lot fatter.

And they really change the look of the old bus too, like they should have been from the start really , much more aggressive if you get my drift, brings the back end into a better stance, well that's my view..

different angle again but you can see better.

Sounds good chap for the first parts, bummer about the second bit....
there's a saying though with remaps and B7's , sort the clutch first then do the remap, saves a lot of grief chap.....
hope you get it sorted .

I’m just impatient I got S4 brakes, H&R springs and 19” bbs speedlines to fit. Just not enough time in the day to get it done

fitted the re-refurbed alloys today, quick wash and shampoo , tightened up the s4 blades and that's about it.
I think that's about it now for mods to the old bus, I was going to fit my hofele rs4 bumper aswell this weekend but not going to bother with it .
very happy with the way it goes and looks now, time to channel funds to another project just as worthy as the old bus.

Another project, sounds interesting ?.. u gona hang onto the old girl though?

yep, she's a great old girl....and I have no plan to part company with her for the foreseeable future......it just ticks all the boxes for me and that's a very hard thing to say about a lot of cars these days.

Thats good news, ur progress threads are great on her! U need to start selling ur pcv delete system as a kit :) haha

Finally got round to changing my battery over, have gone with a yuasa silver with a 5 year warranty.
Took a lot longer than expected mainly due to the fact that the new battery was 30mm wider than the original, but after removing anything removable finally got it in.
See how it goes in the snow tomorrow morning.

Fitted my brand spanking new centre armrest cover. The latch was broken when I bought the car and I’ve super glued the hinges more times than I care to remember. 12 quid, smashing.

Finally found your post haha.

Have you got any better pictures of this mate? Want to see what the grain effect is like on top. Also is it slightly too short at the back or is it an extract fit?

Productive morning... new OEM HPFP with Autotech internals fitted. New 034 turbo intake pipe. A trip to Revo and upgrade to stage 2+
Not too much wear on the old cam follower either which was surprising.

some good progress chap, also the BUL engines had a revised cam so the problem with follower wear has been greatly reduced anyway compared to the other engine codes, certainly not a follower eating machine .

That is a good days fettling! Hows the clutch holdin up now lol. Any hp estimate?

Just rob- how often are you changing the follower on these engines then bud? Never done mine and its on 96k now...

Clutch is holding up well at the moment (fingers crossed) Going back in a few months to fine tune the map and get on the rollers so I’ll have the magic numbers then.

So the bul has a revised cam lobe and the issue should be resolved but rob avants is showing wear so at 96k i'll swap it soon

I think its more a case of the rapid & excessive wear issues have been reduced considerably compared to previous setups , the item will and does still wear due to the nature of the part and how it works etc but the lifespan has increased, at 100k then its allways going to be prudent to check and replace it really, cheap part and easy to replace = no reason to avoid doing the fix.

Yeah its cheap enough to just tick of the list!

New N80 valve, hopefully cure my intermittant p0171 "too lean at idle" code. Old one was stuck open regardless of whether it was energised or not.

So, the car developed turbo flutter (off boost compressor surge) when I was on my way back from solcombe a few weeks ago.

This prompted me to finally change my DV. The valve which came off was Rev G. When I pulled the wiring harness off oil squirted out!

Got a Forge recirculating valve on now and the car is running like a dream. Pulls a little better and less lag between changes. Think my original DV had been failing for some time.

Couple rubbish pics:

My experience with that Forge one you put on is that it still leaks. If you have an OEM rev D I would give that a shot. That’s just my experience though.

@Rob Avant How long did it take you to fit your new fuel pump mate? I may attempt to fit mine tomorrow if it’s relatively quick.

I bought an APR pump second hand and it has no rubber seal with it. Do you know what size I need to get?

Fitted my APR HPFP and new cam follower yesterday. Simple swap, no dramas. Next to no wear on the old follower, although I suspect it has been changed before. I think my stock pump was not far off failure either. I can physically move the piston back and forth with my finger!

There was a slight hesitation in the throttle with the old pump on the car. This has now disappeared.

HPFP

Also, there must be some sort of event on near Bristol today. Went to asda this morning in Cribbs Causeway and there was 15-20 kitted/tuned cars there that all set off together.

Do people on here ever attend any events?

Good stuff bud, whens the new turbo finding its way under the bonnet?

Good to hear it’s an easy job, I need to do mine this weekend!

Fitter a smarttop module yesterday so I can open the roof remotely and have one-touch opening from the button

Been a delay with the turbo mate. Should be delivered next week, fingers crossed. Getting off my *** now though and starting to put bits on the car. If I have time next week it’s oil/filter change and fit uprated intercoolers.

@LawrenceH - only prob I had was getting the low pressure fuel line off. My grips have no grip so took a while to get the clips off ha ha
