Audi rs3 best tyres

Cars due some new tyres from) soon was thinking of getting michelin pilot super sports but read online it causes traction issues. My front are 255 30 19 and rear 235 35 19..

Anyone got any good recommendations?

Iv got Michelin Pilot sport 4S on mine which it came on and I think they are no better then any other premium tyre and don’t understand the hype.

At the weekend Iv a set of Yokohama AD08R tyres to swap over too and having had them on my previous S3 I can’t rate them enough fantastic tyre

They don't come out very well in this test. The AD08 is an old tyre now. Beaten by a summer tyre in all the tests.

Heard good things about the pilot 4s. Is it not worth the money?

I'm currently running Continental SportContact 6 and I have nothing to complain about.
Not sure about the "all weather conditions" though.

Pilot 4S are the best all round tyres I have ever used, I've also heard the same from multiple people and been in multiple cars using those tyres. It was almost impossible to find theie limit of grip on public roads in my focus rs mk3. I will 100% be swapping to 4S's when I need new tyres, these pirellis suck.

It was almost impossible to find theie limit of grip on public roads in my focus rs mk3. I will 100% be swapping to 4S's when I need new tyres, these pirellis suck.

Just personal choice at the end of the day I rate them highly but as below someone rates the Michelin’s high and I don’t

I have the michelin pilot sport 4s and can't recommend them enough. So much better in the dry and the wet compared to the pirellis. I have never had any traction problems but i always have traction in sport.

Looks like the pilot 4s are ones to get then.. I always drive car in either sport or manual mode.. With dynamic obviously lol can't get enough of the pops and bangs

IMO it depends where you live (average yearly weather), how you drive (hooligan or grandad), how much you want to spend (cheapskate or otherwise) etc.

In summary no tyre is any good and all tyres are good.

You would think Audi would have tested a few different types in varying conditions and fitted what they think is the best.
However they may just of had a good deal at the time the likes of Pirelli. Who knows....

I have Michelin Pilot 4S all round on mine with no traction control issues. A good tyre and lasting way longer than the Pirellis did. The only issue I have with them is they have a bit more road noise.

I have a spare set of rear 235 35 19 in my garage, if anyone is interested in taking them off my hands? I will need to check on exactly how much tread is left on them but they have plenty of life.

That's fair enough mate however facts don't lie and they have the best reviews and performance data over any other summer tyre in wet and dry. So on paper they are one of the best all round tyres you can get, backed up with many positive opinions.

Ofc their is a straight answer. If you live in england buy PS4S because they are the best all rounders.

Just sold my RS3 and have two brand new unused Pirelli PZero 255/30/19 RO2 tyres if anyone is interested? Purchased them in Jan as they are a bit awkward at times to get hold of, then decided to move the RS3 on before they needed fitting. Cost me £425 for the pair. PM me.

Yet they still couldn't get a paint that doesn't flake off the exhaust, an annoying rattle on startup and squeaky brakes

I think tyres really are down to personal preference and driving style, I like the P Zeros in the dry, but not at all in the wet. I am going to give the Pilot 4s a go next i think.

Maybe the exhaust manufacturer didn’t get as big of a Brown envelope as Pirelli

Have to agree with the oem pzeros find them great especially the Sottozero’s for winter.

Because of a pothole I now have on the front axle: Continental ContiSportContact 5p 255/30/19 RO2, the are also audispec; I did not find them more noisy and are a better in wet; I suppose I have lost something in dry, sidewall seems a lot reinforced compared to pirrelli's

Do they have a similar rim protection than Pirelli?

I'm finding that I get a fair bit of wheel spin in the RS3 which has the OEM Pirelli P Zero's, I never got a sniff of wheel spin in my Golf with the Pilot Sport tyres on, even after I had it remapped to 375bhp. Do you think it would be possible to swap the Michelin tyres onto my RS3? They are 235/35/19 on all four, I know the rear's will be fine as they are the same as the Pirelli sizes but will they be ok up front too with the wheels being wider?

The PS4S run a lot wider than the P Zero's even if stated the same size as 235's. In fact the 235 PS4S is wider than the 255 pirelli in terms of tread width. You will be fine to run 235 PS4S all round.

I understand where he is coming from.

We have recently had an overhaul in France of the CT (MoT) inspections, and now a car will be failed if the tyre deviates the slightest from manufacturer's spec.

As an illustration, I have a little Skoda Felicia Pick Up for local use. Needs new tyres, checked on the spec for Felicia that stated a load index of 81. Bought four tyres online to save a few euros and was promptly failed! The Pick Up version spec is a load index of 83!! I wish now I had taken it to the loacl tyre place where I could have gone back!

I agree wholeheartedly with this.
On the Evo, It was practically impossible to provoke oversteer with the MPS 4.

I given up on winter tyres and I had some Continental Sport Contact 6's on my staggered set up FL RS3, done a bit of research on them and this tyre test (http://www.tyrereviews.co.uk/Article/2019-Sport-Auto-20-Inch-UHP-Tyre-Test.htm) roped me in. Had a good ride out on them after having them fitted and they're phenomenal the cornering, feedback and grip are leaps and bounds above the P-Zero's and there's been no traction control issues at all (heard a couple of people having trouble with TC on the MPS4). Worth a look for anybody looking for some new tyres.

Just my 2 cents, I swapped over from the staggered setup Pirelli’s 255 front, 235 rear to Michelin’s PS4s 245 all round. Can say they are so much better than the Pirelli’s in dry and wet. The confidence I got from these tiers in the wet is absolutely incredible. Grip is fantastic, can’t fault them at all.

I’ve got the staggered set up and factory Pirelli’s, what’s the benefit of changing from staggered as surely Audi have done that for a reason?

Was looking at swopping as the Pirelli’s don’t inspire confidence, big fan of the Goodyear Assy’s on my S4 or would look at Pilot Sports.
