Has anyone replaced their throttle body with a larger variant?

Anyone know what comes standard? Is it a 57mm or 70mm?

it's been done over in the US. they use 06E133062G or similar. they come off the 3.2 fsi or vr6. it's not a simple plug and play. needs custom tune. I believe stock is 59 and yes the upgrade is 70. gains seem to be marginal. if anyone can make it work it will be you. I still miss your HPA 3.2

I'm on my 2nd one and this one seems to have gone as well so i'm considering a 70mm aftermarket solution. I'm hoping my map will be ok.

I also miss the R32 :)

For what it’s worth I’m still on the stock size TB here so the gains may be quite small.

Not really after gains, but I don't want to be replacing it again with another OEM part. If I can go 70mm, I may as well open it all up as everything else in my system is significantly wider and its weird my cars eaten 2 of them now. One at 5k and this one at just over 31k. I've ordered the Grams 70mm unit. IIRC, Steve & Hurdy at Stattlers used to replace the TB's for their customers big turbo cars with a larger OEM unit (possibly the one mentioned above) to increase flow & throttle response, feedback from those owners suggested throttle response was greatly improved. Either way, i'm going to give it a go.

It’s odd as you say...mine lunched it’s original TB at around 60k miles but the current one has been fine.
The original had a few bits of dust etc inside but there was no obvious fault which was also pretty odd.

The ECU on mine can use things like the Corvette TB if required, but obviously requires mapping like yours will.

For sure if it’s broken, then there’s nothing to lose.....good luck.

Grams TB has arrived. Looks like a solid piece of kit. Will try and get it installed this weekend.
