yourAudi - Track New Car Order

Looking for a bit of help on the tracker please.

I ordered an A3 SB BE on 26th Jan and was given an order number by the dealer on the 30th. I've tried every couple of days since to track the order but the system can never find it. The dealer has said it's build week 9 which is only a couple of weeks away but I still can't track it. I rang Audi UK and they say you can't track it until the build week is confirmed, which mine isn't yet. Is that correct? It seems others on here have been able to track orders much earlier in the process. I know my dealer switched one of their demonstrator build slots for mine, could the postcode I need to enter possibly be the dealers rather than mine?

The tracker is broken for a lot of recent orders it seems, i and a few others ordered start of December and where never able to track it, and Audi were unable to resolve it

Ah OK thanks that's interesting. I notice that today it says unavailable try later, rather than just not found. I wonder if they are updating the system?

Quite possibly

From what Audi CS told me, the ordering system and the tracking system are in two different databases, and they regularly loose batches of orders during the copy of data into the tracking system, and have no way to recopy them (I don’t believe that, as the source of the data still exists), but certainly if it doesn’t appear in a few days, call Audi CS and one day they might actually fix their buggy systems :)

I’m an expert on the tracker as I have ordered two new Audi’s in the last year.

First of all the CS people on the phone are idiots. They know about as much about how things work as the staff in McDonalds. I would recommend using online chat if your in the UK. They can track your order with just the order number. Click on contact us on the Audi side and the chat window should pop up.

The CS and online chat can tell you your order status. When they told you that you can’t track it until it’s confirmed they are slightly confused. What that means is until the factory confirms the build week they can’t guarantee when it will be built. This means the week number the dealer gave you is an estimate. It could be delayed or change quicker. However they can tell you that your order is received and with the factory which is what the online tracker would show.

I recommend looking back at the posts showing all the order status numbers to understand what they all mean.

As for the tracker it’s not unusual for there to be a period where it doesn’t work after your dealer changes the order. 9 days is quite a long time but I think my S3 order didn’t show for 2 weeks.

I would contact the dealer and make sure that the post code and order number are correct and then just use online chat until the tracker recognises your number.

Now you need to familiarise yourself with how to check the JSON data to get the detailed updates and what they all mean.

Just look back through the thread! You can even search my posts as I explained it like 50 times!

Weirdly just checked mine and it is now trackable, a week after it arrived at dealership.

Think they’ve an issue with the wheels tho, 18” wheels, but the tyres are only 17 haha

Thanks. Yes, I'd already searched for getting the JSON data to save asking you again! All my options seem to be present and correct which is the main reason I wanted to be able to access the information.

Currently showing:

"buildweek" "201809"
"firstdayofbuildweek" "2018-02-26T00:00+0000"
"ordertype" "00"

I've had 3 orders in 12 months, and each one was completely different in the way the tracker reacted. The A6 tracking was just about correct detail wise, and arrived in the UK early from the expected delivery date. The first A3 order went south, the car was stuck in QC at the factory for a week then it was stuck 6 weeks at the port in extended QC, the tracker was just about aligned for this order, but it was just frustrating to see the same tracking details for 6 weeks!! The Last A3 order the tracker was very much out until it left the factory, before then it was saying it was built and it QC (JSON data also stated this) yet it was just at the start of the build (panel shop) according to Audi CS & the dealership. So I would not fully trust the JSON data you will see.

I phoned Audi CS quite a few times on the first A3 order, and they were good but could not tell me whey the car had gone into extended QC, as the factory refused to tell them that level of detail, even when the complaint was raised to the senior management team (after an email to Andrew Doyle) they could still not give me an answer of the extended QC issue. For the last order I only phoned them a coupe of times and again they told me where the car was actually in the build process and when it had shipped from the factory.

Personally I would give Audi CS a ring when you see the car go into production, they will give you a good idea if the tracker is correct.

The tracker seems to be updating fine for me now. I'm up to status 21, panel shop, for a build week 9 (next week).

I've been status 40 since Friday, I assume the port doesn't operate over the weekend?

Finally at Status 70 and due to collect next Monday, can’t come soon enough :yahoo:

Just an idea of timescales for those still waiting

Mine was "born" today! VIN allocated and now left Ingolstad.

Feel sorry for those picking up a new 18 plate today, not ideal weather conditions, but I guess if you're getting a Quattro it's a good chance to test it out!

I was supposed to be picking my new S3 up from Tunbridge Wells but the dealer postponed to Monday - They have had a lot of snow and I was going to get a train from Essex and they are struggling with sorting out paperwork so assume Milton Keynes is bad as well

Not a bad decision really as wouldn't be the best experience

Collected Mrs B5 A3 today, first stop after collection was to remove the federal family killers fitted buy Audi and stick some Michelin Crossclimate tyres on, if your tyres are crap then quattro makes no difference at all.

My S3 has made it through the snow and it's just arrived at the dealership. Took 7 days from Sheerness. I'm collecting on Thursday :grinning:

Hi.
Looking at all the comments on here, I realise how little I understand about the ordering and delivery process. I placed and order for an RS3 in Feb and was told I would possibly have this week (5/3/18) as my build week. I checked for the first time today and I'm at 'quality control'! Does any one have any idea what sort of time I can expect delivery?
When I ordered my current car (Golf R) I had to wait over 6 months from order to delivery.

I'm liking this Audi malarkey

Quality control could mean your car is still not built, best give CS a call tomorrow. However once your car leaves the factory, then your looking at 4/6 weeks to get to the dealer, it all depends on the boat.

I take it the tracking site isn't too accurate then?

Mine was in QC for several day's, when I called Audi CS after the 3rd day of QC I was told it was only in the panel shop.

It’s been a long wait, but it’s here. I’m away to look for pics as I seem to have missed them. Hope your wife enjoys the car. :) x

Just checked the tracker this morning and it's now showing as 'In transit'

Think I will call CS, it all seems a little too quick to me.

Once the car is painted then it takes only hours to build a car, everything is pre-assembled, then bolted together.

No pictures on day of collection as the car was covered in snow, I asked them not to clean it off as we had already inspected the car for damage, gave the car a little clean on Saturday and took a few pictures will upload them later.

Very nice! :thumbs up:
Black and the Wing Arm wheels are a great combination.
Should stick some pics on the "Post Pics of your Facelift 8V" section now that you've graduated from the Track New Car Order lol.

Spoke to CS today. My car has left the factory and is enroute to the port. I've been given wc April 15th as a delivery date. I'm sure I recall the dealer saying average 2-3 weeks from build to delivery.

I know it's a lottery and can depend on a lot of things, but what sort of time for transit to delivery is the norm?

It's your Donald Duck.
Time at the port can range from a few days to 2 or 3 weeks. Then up to a week to get to the dealer, plus prep time prior to collection.

Mine is now in the UK and due at the dealer next Wednesday. Pick up pencilled in for next Friday. I ordered on 26th Jan so that's just 7 weeks from order to pickup. The sales guy did say they would try to find a spare build slot if they could, and I reckon they must have as they were originally taking about mid to late April.

Thats probably the quickest turn around ive read in here. Ive never been that lucky, waited 4 months for my A3 and nearly 6 months for a Golf GTD
