Hi Guys n Gals,

With much regret and sadness I am leaving the Audi World :bye:

After owning Audi's for the last 7 years, I have decided I need a change. I have thoroughly enjoyed every single one of the Audi's I have owned but I think it's just time for something different.

I want to thank each and everyone of you for your help, suggestions and general banter. This has been one of, if not the best forum I have ever had the pleasure of being part off. You lot are so awesome and have made owning my Audi that little bit better, so thank you.

After some careful thought and an amazing offer, I am moving to........ a VOLKSWAGEN GOLF R :yahoo:

Very cool. I’m on both. Audizine with my 2011 S4 and Vortex with my 2015 TDI Sportswagen!

Thanks @Bristle Hound, she's a real beaut! Love the look of your Cupra, my favourite Seat and in the best colour choice IMO.

She's not arrived yet, should be here.......OH.......the 14th, same as you! We can count down the days together lol

I will be giving her a full details when she arrives at her new home, can't wait to get my hands on those filthy exhausts!

Thank you Jamie. I see you sporting the new banner I made yesterday as well. Between you and Bristle hound you will get that section as popular as the other sections. :) x

Only yesterday! I feel privileged :)

Would be nice to see that section grow on this forum. Might be a struggle to get it as popular as the others but we can only try.

I still can't believe I didn't know it was there before, I used to own a Passat and Golf in my younger years, would have joined up a long time ago otherwise.

Your not alone, a lot of the members tend to stick to their own chassis sections. It’s a huge forum and we try to cater for everyone. If there is something you want to see on the forum, you just need to ask and I will look into it. Glad your liking your new banner. If you tell me exact colour of your car I will make you and Brustle hound little exclusive banners. :) x

I’ve always said the worst car I’ve owned is my S-Line B8 Avant and the best is my cab, even over and above our current V6 S212 which I have no issues with.

The problem is the cab was supposed to be a 2 year stop gap, but it’s turning into a 6 year plan. I love it, but the boys are getting older and although it’s built like a brick S-house, compared to the Merc the safety features are non existent.

I would have liked to buy an A5 cab, but after all the heart ache and issues I had with my B8, it’s gonna take a lot of persuasion to buy another new(ish) Audi. So I’m thinking about the Golf

@JRock247 - Thanks :thumbs up:

Only 6 sleeps to go my friend ;)

Doing my own new car Detail too. Just deciding on what products to use TBH
I fancy going a bit 'old skool' this time :D
I don't think it will be as intensive as my one on my old S4 tho'

Had to delay the car arrival :(

Managed to pick up a virus on Monday, so have been bed ridden (quarantined) ever since.

Re-organised to collect the car on the 23rd during my holiday in York......providing I'm no longer contagious.

How's the new motor @Bristle Hound, happy with the change?

Sorry for the slow update all. Due to illness, holiday and life in general, I have only just got around to posting my update on the car.

Finally collected her on Thursday and couldn't be any happier :)

Took her out for a spin on the Yorkshire Dales and then North York Moors.......so much fun!!

Couple of pics on the dales.

Lovely car, and a beautiful place to drive it. The Dales and the North York Moors are one of my favourite corners of the world, and I wish I lived nearer to them.

Thanks @jdp1962

First time visiting both the Dales and Moors, would love to go back some day.

I too wish I lived closer but a 4hr commute for a drive, is a little much for me.

@JRock247 nice car. Hope your enjoying and good your sticking around Jamie :) x

Absolutely loving the car @Sandra :)

Still can't wipe the grin off my face!

Glad to be sticking around, just wish the 'Volkswagen and other VAG' section had a bit more activity on it.
Well you and @Bristle Hound will soon liven it up. :) glad your smiling, that shows you made the right decision Jamie. :) x

I keep looking at these. They’re so nice in blue!

Did you try any of the competition beforehand?

I do love the Lapiz Blue, especially with the Pertori wheels :) Would have had that colour if I could find one in my budget and with the spec I wanted.

I tried an S3 out and don't get me wrong, it's a lovely car but there was just something about the R that left me with a larger grin on my face. The R to me, feels a little more racier than the S3 and just seems to handle itself far better when pushing it hard. The S3 almost felt a bit willowy when pushing it hard.

I personally think you get a better bang for your buck with the R compared with the S3 but that's just my opinion.

That's the impression I get in the S3 vs R. Think the R is more shouty and the s3 is a little more refined.. however I'd have the S3 in a saloon over the hatch.
