I know this might be a weird thread but I was just wondering. With my S4 arriving in a month or 2 I’m curious to hear current S4 owners experiences with owning this car. Didn’t buy the car for attention by the way before anyone asks haha.

My standard Audi A4 gets a lot of looks so S4 will get a lot for sure

.... incl 2 x :busted cop:at a random RBT (Random Breathalyser Test).

But it is not always a good sign. Our last Subie also received many, including the driver of the 8 ton truck behind me.
"Gone in 60 seconds", certainly was. He wrote it off!!!

I can’t say I’ve noticed mine getting much attention to be honest, even with all the mods done to it!

I’m not imagining I will.

It’s an A4/S4 (the same thing to most) not a supercar!

In my experience not nearly as much attention compared to my previous Sepang Blue S3 Saloon, I was always getting double takes and comments.

Maybe down to colour with my Daytona grey S4, however I do like to have it in sports and drop it down the gears to hear the pops etc in overrun, that certainly gets people to look to see what car it is.

It’s a good thing though in my mind, people that know respect it and those that don’t get a surprise when this Audi ‘estate’ flies by!!

I get a few looks and comments (overhearing people) in my S5, mostly on engine start ups and some people generally admiring the car, which is fine. I've also noticed a lot more people being overly aggressive on the road and wanting to race or draft my car like we're in a Nascar race.

I thought that I’d get more people looking and speaking about it with the new loud exhaust but I haven’t noticed anything even with it fitted!

Although when my wife was driving behind me and I booted it to get some decent ‘DSG’ farts on gear change, she said a bunch of guys looked in their wingmirrors to see what was making the noise. Lol

Yeah - I've been drafted a few times by battered chav-mobile S3s even if I'm just pootling along. I switch to Grandad mode as I have nothing to prove - I know I could leave them for dust if I wanted to!

Apart from that, I've had a couple of A6 drivers come and talk to me when filling up. That's the great thing about these understated cars - those who know, know!

Yes I know someone with a New S5 sportback in metallic white and he says it gets a lot of attention think the pan roof helps with that.

Nothing new there then!

Not had anyone come up chat to me yet, just the usual look of what I think is.. He's either stolen that or looks to young, unfortunately.

@SRB93 you enjoy your awesome car, you work hard to have it. Being young is a bonus. :)

Same. With the valve mod, at low revs, it does get a few head turns a week. I'd say because people don't expect it. Audi fans will appreciate it.

Seeing as the majority of the public wouldn't be able the tell the difference between a 'ordinary' A4 and a S4 I doubt if any more attention would be to a S4. After all, and to be perhaps brutally honest, the A4 isn't the best looking car on the road compared to the A3 saloon I used to own. Most people I know have asked me why I got rid of such a fine looking car for a thing with a big boot.
But beauty is in the eye of the beholder, as I keep telling my partner ;-) and I like the understated look of mine too..

I think in the automotive landscape 99% of people would notice nor differentiate a A3 saloon from a A4 saloon. I do prefer the A3 though !

Not had any attention since having the S4 which is ideal for me as it blends into the landscape perfectly

A couple of people in the know have mentioned it when parked at the gym etc however to 99.9% of people it’s a nondescript saloon which is ideal

My precious M235i with performance parts used to get a fair amount of attention which always made me concerned when parking in public places etc

Gotta love that M Performance exhaust though

In London at least there so many much better cars on the road that I doubt many people will even take notice of an A4/S4.

I work in central London and since ordering have kept a lookout for the A4/S4 (anything for a daily fix). Not seen a single one yet amoungst a sea of BMW's and Mercs.

I got a very enthusiastic lights flashing and waving from a guy in another S4 going the other way once. It was clearly brand new, and mine was only a few weeks old at the time so I flashed my lights and waved back .

Other than that I have only seen my car getting looked over in the car park at work once. I can see it from my desk and the guys from the valet place that shares the car park came over to look at it.

I was playing football today with my son in the park in leafy affluent Cotswold town. We were about 100ft away from my S4 Avant parked in a row of cars . It was parked next to a nice looking white 420d gran coupe M sport. Group of hooded chavvy types (baseball caps , smoking weed, energy drinks, swearing . Acne etc,,) walked past, all stopped to take photos of themselves leaning against the 420d and peering in to it etc. the 420d gran coupe is a nice looking car but .....
Not one look at the S4 Avant parked next to it .
Chuffing excellent I thought !

Hahaha good for you poor bmw owner though I wouldn’t want chavs anywhere near my Car. Probably scratch it or key it out of jealousy.

I've come back to my parked S4 once to have a few young teenagers crowded around it admiring the Magma Red interior but otherwise I get plenty of unwanted attention on the roads from chipped diesels, C43 AMGs (very well matched in performance....I've been told), Honda Civic type R, BMW 320d so on and so forth.

It's the Quashqui driver you gotta watch out for. They see red when they see an S4!

Where possible I spec de-badge as an option or perform a de-badge myself. Helps avoid unwanted attention.

Are you sure it wasn't because you didn't have your headlights on ? ;-)

I find myself wanting to wave at other Audi owners now, especially if it’s a b9 in Daytona, how super sad is that? Haha

Very.

I’ve found new mini drivers to be the worst. My dad had a Cooper S and every time I took it for a spin I could guarantee I’d get waived at/flashed.

I have debadged mine since day one.

And I hate the attention I get thru the exhaust noise.

If one needs attention, the S4 won't be the right choice.

I think it was the ultimate sleeper, yes some people noticed, had a few comments etc but I think mine drew the most attention due to the colour (black on black on black) and always shiney! (Rain or shine) that’s what made it stick out like a sore thumb..

However my new ‘Asbo’ gets a lot of attention probably more for the noise but is also always shiney and black too :)

Hate the drug dealer comments though..have had a couple of guys i know call them that.. very uncalled for .. I don’t drink or smoke the only vice I have are fast Audi’s :)

My first S5 coupe did - it was in Nav Blue so stood out more and was one of the first B9 S5 on the road. My Daytona Grey one not so much until I put the Milltek on it.

No, the S4 doesn't get unwanted attention unless you drive like a wally.
