Yes. Happens to the majority as the hubs aren't coated. Best to get them painted.

I have similar , waiting till better weather then will paint. Car 3 months old.

I have emailed the dealer and I'm awaiting a reply

Yep normal but shouldn’t be happening.

Bit the bullet and paid £250 for removal and VHT painting of mine, matt black now.

Oh you have much worse to come!!! They will fully rust over in a matter of months, if not weeks, and IMO wouldn't be acceptable on a £200 banger. Audi painted mine as a gesture of goodwill. Two months later they were back to rusted over.

I now have a two month old TT and the hubs are well on their way to rusting over. Appalling.

Replacing my rears due to scoring and pedal vibration but 6 coats of spray smoothrite has gone down first ......

Ok so what's the solution.....did Audi use a sub standard paint?
6 coats of paint isn' t that a bit excessive.
Surely there's a product out there that works?

On the last car I replaced the discs with ECS drilled and grooved but they were 2 piece the centre hub or hat being black anodised aluminium so a large weight save but also no rust - downside was that they were expensive.

LoL hopefully not remember it’ll be thinner so prob equivalent to 2-3 brushed coats.

POR15 works a treat (clear rust coating), but over time it goes a p*ss coloured yellow.

I had literally a dozen comments at shows last year asking what on earth happened to them, looked rubbish!

My detailer told me all audi, bmw and merc hubs rust. He said no matter what coating he puts on them they will rust and advised me to have them painted satin black.

That’s what I’m going for satin black . Prob need redoing after a while but worth it I think . Yup has happened on previous cars I’ve owned . They sadly skimp on the parts that the majority don’t ever notice . Be dull if we had nothing to improve though right ?
