What have you done to your Audi A4 B7 today?

Updated the tired fog light grills with a bit of mesh and some gloss black paint.

Nathan, can I ask where you got the mesh from and how you attached it please..? Looks really good mate...!!

Its a great mod , I did mine a while back but recently picked up another pair with the view to remove the central horizontal bar and just having it all mesh, just need to make the right cut on both sides to minimise the amount of making good needed as with the bar removed it leaves a hole instead , it needs filling so that means repainting afterwards.....

After 4 days and a good few miles covered on the new revised PCV delete etc being fitted I decided to have a quick look at what had collected in the tank, well It was more a case of looking to make sure the system actually worked, it wouldn't be the first time something did not turn out to work quite the way it should have..lol
Anyway , it is doing a grand job , all the nasty stuff in the tank and not a sign of any residue in the turbo return pipe or turbo itself......
so i'll fit the drain to the bottom now to make fortnightly emptying a breeze.

My Sportshifter was delivered today, looks great and very simple to install. Has made me realise I need to replace the the trim surrounds as they look very tired against the new unit. Thanks to Roy @SportShifters.com

Yea I love that look. If I hadn’t paid so much money for my Black Forest shift knob then I would have gotten a unit like that for sure. Very nice.

Started wrapping my trim but because of the fish scale texture it doesn’t look perfect. Looks like I’ll be either high build priming & wrapping or painting them instead.

You have the Aluminium? I'm sure I've seen someone sand it and do it in a brushed finish, that looked good

not today, but over the weekend plastidipped my centre console, fitted an arm rest and wrapped the aluminium trim stuff. ran out of paint and it really needs one more coat but pretty pleased for now. also like the two tone look so abandoning plans to change out everything for black and maybe will just paint a few more little bits.

has anyone tried hydrodipping? been looking at the DIY kits and fancy giving it a go.

no pics. i was a bit nervous cutting it, but there is a decent amount of room for error. just kept measuring, got a rectangle drawn, drilled the four corners and cut. then filed away each side until it squeezed through.

dont know if this makes sense but lay the arm rest (the metal bit anyway) onto the bracket through the ash tray hole to get an idea of where you need to cut for the width. then depth should be around 14mm away from the ashtray hole. just a case of trying to line it up by eye then measuring the metal part against your rectangle to see if its about right.

I gave up tying to get that out on mine for fear of snapping it. I was doing drive shaft so to make room I compressed spring, undid three bolts that hold top mount to inner wing and then pulled top mount towards the edge of the arch. Pain in the **** to do but saved shearing that bolt off because that would’ve been 100x worse.

I've got to do my control arms in the spring, ****** popping noise is back.
Decide I'm probably going to replace the Steering knuckles as I know the pinch bolt is seized solid on one side and track rod also seized.

They are About £150 each so not to bad.

My second set of S4 blades finally arrived today from Germany, only 3 days late....must have had something to do with the "beast from the east"..lol
just need to get them prepped and painted Brilliant black and that's another box finally ticked as done.
Not a bad deal £120 all in and excellent condition too .
wallet's getting low again now though...

I did my pinch bolts last week . They were seesed solid and I had to get a lot of heat on it . Make sure you put the nut back on just till it's flush with the end of the bolt . Heat it up with a hand held blow torch for about 5 minutes then hit the nut with a large hammer as square as possible. It took about 4 or 5 hits but it worked.

I used full dip mate. It’s like plastidip but sprays a lot better. Means I didn’t need to do any prep. Just pull the bits off and spray them. Finish is great and looks very OEM.
Ok you got a link tonthe stuff as ive got plastic dip thats im using to spray some part for my car but always intrested in other products
