I thought it would be useful to see what mods people have been able to do on their b8/b8.5 A5/S5 with Carista. I'll go first.....

Start/Stop - Enabled the memory so the car starts up in the same mode as when it was last used.
Ambient light menu - Enabled the MMI control to adjust the brightness of the footwell lighting.
Rear DRL's - Enabled the rear lights to act as DRL's.

I want to change the number of times the indicators signal a lane change from 3 to 5 but can't find the option to do it.

I forgot about the unlocking of the hidden green menu, you need to that first before you can mod the ambient lighting.

When i enabled the option the setting was just over half way and does go brighter, in my car it actually goes to bright for night driving IMO.

I tried to unlock this but it doesn’t show in my menu which is a shame.

Managed to do the following:

Fog lights when cornering
Passenger side mirror tints when reversing
Seat belt tone changed (god knows why but I did lol)
Beep and blink when unlocking

Think that’s all, do really like this app so helpful.

Plenty of info on the Carista app here

I'm assuming a lot of the stuff you can change on the B8 & B8.5 A4/S4 will be available on the A5/S5's

On my S4 I added/changed -

Oil temp/lap timer added
Beep on locking
Memory function on stop/start button
Rear lights as DRL's during the winter months

How can I get the digital mph in the centre? I had it at one point and now it's not there and can't work out it. I have carista and OBDEleven on an S4

Mode button on your steering wheel should change to MPH, it does on my S5 & previously on my A5.

Yeah should just be on the lever, I would push the reset but and scroll through if not push again and then have another scroll through using the side buttons. Without being in the car pretty sure that’s correct.

That just scrolls through MPG and the other stuff. I had to enable lap timer, which I've checked is still enabled, but can't remember what the next step was

On the same stalk as the one for mpg and wipers. Press the button on the bottom of that stalk, not the end of it.

Aha! Spot on, thanks

I have Carista (thankfully paid for unlimited for life subscription before it became monthly :) )
Enabled all the usual stuff mentioned above, but wondered if any beta testers might know if they will introduce (if its even applicable to the S5) the setting to change the sound system from 'RHD/Leather/Gasoline' to 'RHD/Cloth/Diesel', this increases the bass on the old BOSE systems on TT's, and since getting my S5 am super disappointed in the B&O systems lack of bass.

Details here :):

"The Sound System (J525) coding. Bit 7 00xxxx? allows setting according to the interior of the car. Mine was 00xxxx7 which is for Right-Hand-Drive/Leather/Gasoline. I changed it to 00xxxx5 which is for RHD/Cloth/Gasoline and the bass tone came booming out. It's now too much to have the bass on full. If you set 00xxxx1 which is for RHD/Cloth/Diesel then, for me the bass is too much.

At last, my sound system is perfect.

Im a beater tester for Carista but not checked it on the RS5 for some time. I'll try and remember to have a look tonight but will be after 9pm as the wife has the car today. I will get back to you.

I know what you mean though. I have an A3 with BOSE and the bass is excellent.
Our RS5 has the B&O system and even with Base right up its definitely no were near as good.

Thanks, if its not there, will be able to see in vag com later tonight if its even available to change on the s5. If it is maybe Carista should add it :p
Boyfriend is bringing over his vag com tonight to see if we can find it.. EXACTLY THAT! the Bose in my old B8 A4 was soo much bassier than the S5's B&O, I know its meant to be about the clarity rather than the bass... but i care more for the bass :p

Couldn't see anything through carista.
Quite a few new beta settings available, some which I have no idea what they will do so dare not try them but nothing music related.

If you find that it can be done via vcds let me know how and I will see if it can be added to a beta test release.
