Facelift Changing wheels.....advice

thanks for all your help this weekend after being told Vossen 19s would not fit!!!

I ended up buying 19 ispiri ffr1d ordered today, can’t wait being fitted Thursday!! Along with 20mm lowering...should look good and off to MRC Saturday...power me up!

Now for the wheel help (opinion)

Wheels ordered.....19 8.5j all 4....

The standard current set up I have is as follows from factory

Front
19x8.5 running 255/30/19

Rear
19x8.5 running 235/35/19

Now I’m changing the wheels on the rear from 19/8j to a 8.5j size don’t I need to run the same size rubber ie have 255/30/19 all the way around? Or can I just use my existing tyres even though I have increased from 8 to 8.5 on the rears..?

If Idon’t won’t it effect the rolling radius and give me potential diff problems?

I have this exact setup on my PFL RS3. 8.5J all round, 255 at the front 235 at the rear.

The rears look a little stretched but it's given me no issues what so ever.

Like previously mentioned, Check the wheel offset also as you might have brake clearance issues on the calipers.

Thanks, I spent all last week trying to find a 19 which would clear the calliper as I didn’t want to go to 20s! Ispiri wheels do the job and they look similar to the Vossen CVT....

What do you think of squaring up 255/30/19 on all 4 sides when I shred the existing tyres?

As at the moment they are 255 front and 235 back...

Sounds like you've got it sorted then mate, What offset are they?

I'd personally keep the tyre setup as they are, to this day I still don't really fully understand why Audi have put a wider tyre setup up front on the RS3 and it is only the RS3 out of the full range. I've heard its to cure under steer but I fail to see how.

I don't think 255's at the rear would be a problem, maybe slight rubbing when cornering hard but there's only one way to prove it but id personally keep things the same. You could always drop it first and then try your front tyres on the back for a short period before you go out and buy a set of 255's.

5mm spacer on front to clear calipers. Could have gone with 3-4 but wanted to be sure.

Rear does not need spacer but put 3mm anyway so that it netted out to an equal poke on all 4 wheels. (Roughly 13mm from oem).
