Been quoted £350 for a ceramic coating on my car, should provide some form of protection - obviously not designed to take as much as wrap for example... but I asked for a quote on a wrap from someone else and I was quoted between £700-£3300. No idea what each end of the scale included, didn't even ask because I thought it's likely £700 will be the bonnet, mirrors and maybe the bumper but the whole car would be the top-end £3300.
Hi, just a quick reply...
Wrapping a car is quite labour intensive when done properly, the quote you received between £700 to £3300 really varies on car sizes. A smart car exterior could be done in most basic colours for around £600-£900. Most saloons can be done around for around £1400, this will be majority of colours in satin, gloss, or a matt finish and will cover all external paintwork (plastic body mouldings should never be wrapped as they have a low surface energy and will more than likely blow off with the wind.
Also bare in mind a wrap is not permanent. Some vinyls will need to be removed within 1-2 years otherwise the adhesive becomes permanent. Some vinyls have a lifespan of 3-5 years. In any case when the vinyl is removed if there is any adhesive left behind it can still be removed but can add up to costs.
We offer a 1 year warranty on off of our work in case anything starts to peel back/bubble etc.
I would say the quote for £700 would be for the entire car but may be using a slightly cheaper vinyl.
For £3300 I would expect a high quality vinyl in an exotic colour (flip colours, and some chrome's) maybe even include door shuts and returns.
Hope this helps.
The problem with a wrap is that you don’t know if they have damaged the underlying paint work until it is removed. Take it to the wrong place and they could scratch the paint as they cut and apply

That is a sad truth about the wrapping industry, be sure to ask how they will be cutting on the car as there are cutting tapes available so the tip of the blade will never touch the paint.
But bare in mind an experienced installer can cut a price of vinyl on a balloon without popping it. It does take a gentle hand!
