Hi I have an 07 plate 8P A3 fitted with rear "beep" type parking sensors. I would like to retro fit front parking sensors, can anyone tell me what I need

thanks in advance
Simon

A new front bumper, 4 front sensors, an upgraded parking controller with 8 channels, a wiring loom and a dashboard switch

Why a new front bumper ? cant the sensors be put into my existing bumper ? Any part numbers ?

Although there are X marks where you need to drill, there are no brackets to hold the sensors, so unless you can glue some sort of holders to the inside of the bumper how do you support the sensors. Also when you drill you will need to tidy up the paintwork as Audi sensors fit flush and when you drill you might expose the underlying bumper unless you are perfect at drilling.

I've never done an A3 so I can't help on parts.

I have an old rear bumper i can cannibalise for the holders so am OK there and am confident that I can drill it OK but either way at some point the bumper will be re painted anyway. I'm guessing the sensors are the same as the rears and i just need to change the module from a 4 channel to an 8 and then get the switch for the dash. May just bite the bullet and buy a new kit from Audi have seen it for £250

I wasn't aware Audi sold genuine kits. Usually they sell aftermarket sensor kits. It depends on the car, the fronts tend to be right angled and the rears straight. It depends on the car of course.

The Audi branded kits, I'd guess are nothing more than the old VAG approved Cobra kits now being traded by Vodaphone, in their latest form, they do look identical to factory fit sensors and come with their own self adhesive mounting brackets but not do interface with the car's existing parking system, which might not bother you.

For my money, I'd rather having adhesive fixed on mounting brackets now that I've seen just how long BMW factory fit self adhesive sensor mounting stay stuck 100% in place!

resurrecting an old thread but does anyone know the part number for the 8 channel parking controller ?

@TF_Si if you are still considering doing this, find an online VW Group parts listing and make your parts kit up from that including sensor holders from some other model of car if Audi do not list them, and use a strong structural adhesive to bond them in place, I bought a tool for punching holes and clamping the holders in place, new sensors, used controller, used buzzer, used switch if needed and cables from Kufatec.

Edit:- like here https://audi.7zap.com/en/rdw/

Not the best one, the best one I've found prefers to run on IOS .
