What have you done to your 8V today?

Installed a second luggage hook, right-hand side. Had AliExpress versions in my PFL car and not only did they need drilling to secure but the "pull" tabs detached after a couple of weeks. Went for Genuine OEM this time on the FL: 6Y5 867 615 C, includes x2 mounting clips and screws.

Got the auto rear view dimming mirror fitted on Friday from a retrofit place. Was rather confused though how it works as unlike the older style mirror the new "edgeless" one doesn't appear to have a sensor on the front, only the back. Though I shined a torch on it and extremely quickly it dims down and turns greener, I tested it in my mums A1 which has the thicker mirror and it was actually much slower to react.

Plugged Carista into the A1 also to see what could be activated on there... was hopeful for a setting for the rear parking sensors to activate on the MMI but nope (not even sure if this is possible from the factory if you had sensors all round). Enabled the beep though when locking/unlocking (MUCH louder than the A3s - was jealous).

Bought it, & cleaned it

Yeah that’s the trouble. I ended up getting a pre facelift as it had taken most of the depreciation.

I haven’t seen the new one yet. I’m usually quite cautious parking next to the zebra crossing so no one can park next to me one side

Colour is amazing . Couldn’t believe how it took off from cruising at 50mph . It’s got a few options but nothing over the top

Finally fitted my plate holder. Had to find some longer screws.

Please excuse the tailpipes and filthy car weathers been too rubbish to wash. I’ll attempt a wash tomorrow.

How many screws are holding that plate in place

I’d look at getting a new plate that’s not drilled, will look much cleaner imho

for plate holder though, got one myself too.

Why do you need pads? The plate holder holds the plate firmly, you just screw the holder to the car using the existing holes/screws, pop the plate in and snap shut.

Forgive me I was having a very blonde moment. Didn’t even think of that haha. I’ll order a new plate and sort it that way :)

Anyone know how to take off the rear diffuser on my PFL S line A3. Is it a bumper off job? I've bought the S3 diffuser and S3 exhaust for my 1.8TFSI Quattro. Should make it look and sound a little better hopefully :)

Done the same on mine diffuser is just clips easier done on a ramp
I'm planning on trying to get the flaps working as well. But as I don't have the S3 loom to connect it in to on my A3 . I'm looking for something like this to add to mine so I can open the flaps from a button. https://www.doubleapex.co/products/exhaust-button Has anyone ever tried anything like this? Or had a wiring diagram from the J883 exhaust flap module?

Finished M-Cantronic installation on my 1.4 CoD.
Already 2 weeks on, working like a charm, but had to re-install with new ECU cage and cable masking.
Extremely happy with the result

Cleaned the car again and tried to tackle the exhausts, not touched them since Christmas day morning! A before and after (of different sides but whatever)

I used a polish pad and a drill, the pads had flat ends - I was thinking about getting a cone shape one.. though I think they are too far gone...

On the plus side, from a distance they look shiny ;) as someone who doesn't enjoy cleaning cars, that's good enough for me lol
