S4 Avant ordered

Hello there, I ordered my first Audi on 20th December a Daytona grey S4 Avant.
Spec. Privacy glass, 19” alloys, hill hold assist, reverse camera, memory seat & mirrors, carbon inlay light & vision pack. I think that’s all, run out of money or I would of added a few more toys.
Build date 5th February, expecting delivery mid March.
Now the long wait.
I will be sharing the car with my wife as I use a train to work, she has no idea at this point what an S4 is so will be shocked when she experiences the performance.

Nice, but once the wifey gets in it you have no chance of getting in it again. The train is your best friend now.

I think I will be OK she isn’t a petrolhead, I just want to see her face when she opens it up for the first time.

Great choice of car but how long before she kerbs the front wheels ?

It is a worry, but after 40 months with our current tractor, a Merc GLA she hasn’t kerbed any. She is careful when parking in supermarkets etc.
Planning a trip to an area close to Le Mans soon after collecting, looking forward to that.

Same my wife hasn't served the Tiguan's wheels but that's mainly because of the high profile tyre as I am sure she couldn't even if she tried. I suspect the GLA is on balloons too...

True they are big tyres & I have to remove parts rubber from the rims every time I clean the car.
I will be haven a quite word upon delivery to be careful with the car in general, we will see

Hmmm I ordered a month before you and still have not been given a build week, how did you get yours so fast?

I got it almost immediately. The salesman set up a loggin to track my car when I placed the order. The expected build date has jumped between 5th & 19th February but has been stable on the 5th as the expected build date for a while now.
It may be down to your spec, have you ordered anything unusual paint colour etc?
If not check with the salesman

Congratulations on the order. I and my wife also going from a GLA (220D ‘tractor’) to a SQ5. The GLA is on 19’s that we have both kerbed,I will hVe to be careful with the 20’s on the SQ5.

Build and delivery times on the German built Audi’s are much more manageable than the 5-6 month lead times on factory S/Q5’s.

SQ5 I was tempted but I think the extra cost put me off and I got a good discount about %17 on the S4. Not sure I would have got that of an SQ5. Maybe next time.

What spec is your SQ5?

17% is pretty sweet. The wife and I agreed we’d go for a SUV this time around as she’s not an Avant fan. My SQ5 spec is in my order thread on the Q5 Forum below. I went for most options as I plan to keep the car for a while. Drivetrain matches the S4 with the addition of air suspension. I got just over 8% on a PCP as a finance deposit contribution which I was happy with. As the S/Q5 is built in Mexico, the wait for a factory build includes a long lead time on shipping...

Got my build week today from the dealer after whinging lol build week 7 so should have my car by early March he thinks, still not update on the website tough.

Great spec SQ5. Historical I have kept my cars about 7 years if I’m happy with them,the GLA was the exception. I set a limit on my budget and wouldn’t go above or I would have gone for the diff.
Count down to build start now.

Diff on the SQ5 was a late addition. With the extra weight of the SQ5 vs. other S cars, I figured the driving dynamics would benefit. Also I’m pretty sure all the press demo cars had it and it contributed to the positive reviews!

I’ll still be waiting when you have your S4!
