Bacon Sandwich.

There's a little shack called Inkies near Liskeard in Cornwall that has built their own smoker that do some amazing meals.

One of my favourites is their thick cut, home smoked bacon (cut almost half a inch thick) served in a bap with cheese & jalpenos and with the option of a fried egg.

I will quite happily drive a hour or so down there to get one on a regular basis. Going down there this Saturday in fact!

That sounds epic ......that's almost a steak sandwich chap , must be worth it though..enjoy.

Good proper thick bacon, in fresh white bread or roll, with tomato ketchup. No butter or anything else, just those three things. Needs to be Heinz or another proper ketchup though - none of the cheap watery stuff that squeezes out everywhere!

best make it a good one then, lashings of lovely bacon, but "NO" onion.....

Heres my offering for the remainder of 2017 and it was delicious
Tesco finest streaky bacon fried with a little lard, fried egg in olive oil and Bloomer crusty bread which had the inside fried in the bacon fat, also Daddys brown sauce added.

Bacon butty recipe and definitely the tastiest-
Ingredients - Sliced White bread; whatever bacon you prefer.
Method - Fry bacon in frying pan to how crispy you like it, remove bacon, place sliced bread in same frying pan, gently press down with your fingers until all the bacon fat is absorbed by the bread, remove bread and fill with bacon so the toasted side of the bread is on the outside.
Add the sauce of your choice but don't drown it.
To appease the Northerners, Barm cakes or Baps would work just as well instead of plain white bread.

Just polished off thick cut dry cured smokey bacon, with chopped fresh red chilli and melted smoked cheddar on a lightly toasted mini stottie cake :grinning:

looks yum, not sure on the chilli front but hey, it a bacon sarnie and that is all that matters......and there is no sign of the nasty "o" word in it...

Definitely NO onion, but chillies go with anything - my chocolate chilli cake is to die for (although my husband would disagree, even though he wouldn't even try it)!!

Fresh white baguette from Sainsbury’s, thick cut finest (non smoked) bacon, grilled, not crispy.
Countrylife butter, a small drizzle of Heinz tomato sauce. Cup of coffee.

Definitely no onions.

sounds great at this time of the evening, I may have to fire up the cooker now....yum

The one on the motorway slip was the real pants buster! Bad enough when some t0sser does an emergency stop on the merge at the best of times......

Sounds pretty good but I can feel my arteries closing just reading about it.
I do like a ‘fried slice’

Dry cured smoked back bacon, in a brioche roll, buttered with real butter smudge of ketchup... bacon has to be grill ****** to the point where the fat has gone brown and crispy.. if feeling fancy a burford brown fried egg on top as well... crap now I'm hungry!

It's got to be unsmoked back bacon with NO added water, white bread. not toasted but dipped in the bacon fat, bacon has to be grilled with fat all crispy, then topped with HP brown sauce. Yum.

Right I’ve just nailed it!

Currently in Italy visiting my dad and I just made the best bacon roll with no HP sauce in sight.

Ciabatta style roll, pancetta bacon which went crispy in no time topped with hot chilli flakes.

Bella!!

looks great, not sure about the chilli flakes though , but hey not a slice of onion to be seen so that's another bonus.

i'd eat two of them now please....

I always used to get asked by the sammich van girl if I wanted onions on my bacon roll.... I don't understand why you would do that?

@Just Rob. - Perfect bacon sarnie ?
Grilled or gridled bacon till crispy
Fresh dusted bap cut in 1/2
Both insides thinly coated with Lurpak
Small sprinkling of grated red leicester cheese
& finally it HAS to be Heinz red sauce

Oh yeh baby ! :superman:
Had a change to my above fave recipe today

Instead of grated red Leicester cheese I went for a slice of red Leicester cheese
Now I can't decide which is my absolute fave !

White farmhouse sliced bread is the absolute one for a decent bacon butty, toast it and use proper butter as well.
Smoked bacon done well so no squidgy fat and then throw a bit of HP on it.

Bacon butty, DONE! (in a Gordon Ramsay style voice)

Change the crusty white to a brioche bun, or even better, brioche loaf and I'm all over it!

I'm afraid my bacon is only shown the grill, so plenty of squidgy fat for me!

I'm trying to cut down on the amount of fat I eat, so try and trim some off before cooking, only I end up eating the raw fat while I'm trimming, so might as well have left it on!! :tearsofjoy:

It's been a while but i've become a convert to the brioche bun bacon roll today.
As a long-standing fan of the bacon role in it's standard form , today my lovely wife made me something very new, well to me that is.
A toasted brioche roll with sliced chicken and crispy grilled pancetta, and it was a revelation.:icon thumright::yes:

Now I know it's not really a proper bacon roll but it most certainly ticks the boxes for being very tasty indeedy, yum.

I hope she toasted the inside of the bun as well.
