Isn’t it for removing fuses? If it is then it’s fallen out the fuse box.

Doesn't look very fuse puller-y to me, but I guess the design could have changed. Is there a part number cast into it? It looks like some sort of hose clip or positioning clip, but I would expect something like that more in the engine bay, maybe.

Theres no part number cast into it. I looked everywhere on the drivers side, under the dashboard and seat, but nothing looks out of place.

Looks very much like the clip that holds the bonnet release handle on to me.

It fits in here and holds the handle onto the splined shaft .....

Yep think you are spot on.
Must admit the new Audi’s are being put together by monkeys.
Arrived from factory with nothing in the Aircon system, completely empty
How did that get passed at factory and why did my dealer not find it during PDI, cos he ticked the box to say it was checked.
My 1yr old FL S3 has more rattles than a rattle snake. Drivers window seal has already been replaced due to incorrectly installed.
Rear seat rattle managed to track that one down, now fixed.
And just last week rear windscreen washer has packed in, thought it might have frozen with the extreme temperatures but no it’s not that. So zero water coming out of it, ****** disaster.

Oh no sounds like you’ve had your fare share of issues and then some. Check on here for the Golf fan jet washer retrofit - well worth doing they work better, use less water and are easier to adjust. 5 minute job.
