Hi all.

I have been looking on audi website, carwow and the likes, and cant see 2.0 sline stronic ( non quattro).

Is it not available to order? Im pretty much sure I saw them at some point

It’s listed on the Audi UK website - see below. But in checking I saw this about S3s “subject to availability”- have I missed this and what’s the story behind this?

What body style you after? I just looked and you can't get it in the saloon or the sportback, but you can in the 3 door!
I recently got the 2.0 A5 coupe petrol s-tronic, they have now stopped that engine with s-tronic unless you get the quattro!

Its listed, but if you try configure model on audi website, orangewheels or carwow or any other website it is only available as 2.0 sport stronic, 2.0 sline manual or 2.0 sline quattro which I dont want

Must be 5 doors or Saloon. 3 doors not a chance

Another case of Audi rationalising the options to get more money out of their customers.
You want a virtual dash? Buy the tech pack. You want an S-line? But the quattro. I'm surprised they will still let you buy a manual gearbox in an S-line.

Thats so true trying to get as much as they can, but wont work with me. I will look at a4 then hahah :)

Audi would probably sell twice as many virtual cockpits but next to no tech packs on factory orders. Bet they sell more quattros now.

Any particular reason bud? I'm just curious as this is my first diesel Audi. So far I love it, it's seriously quiet and S-tronic is something special :)

Petrol suits me better and is just silent when idling. When I changed 2 years ago from diesel I said no more, petrol is so much better in my opinion. I just made my mind up so not going trough it again.
S3 then!!!!
Won't cost you any more over three or four years than a 2.0tfsi
Im no so sure about that
Maximum I want to pay is 340-350 a month no more no matter what with about 2-3k deposit

To be honest a3 and a4 are the cars Im looking at, and at the moment a4 2.0 stronic sline with few options looks like very good deal, especially with 2.9% apr

Yes you can still get a saloon A4 2.0l stronic sline with front wheel drive and I wouldn't pay anymore than £33.4k for the one in my sig...

What sort of spec?

Should expect about a 13% discount on a new order.

So S3 Black Edition with metallic paint and Tech Pack RRP is £38,870.
Discounted is around £33,800
PCP over 36months/10k miles with £3k upfront payment = 35 payments of £434 with final payment of £19,958.

To get Cuke2u's A4 at £33,400 discounted, with a £3k upfront payment again, you are looking at 35 payments of £484, with a final payment of £15,387 (that sound about right @cuke2u??).

Realistically, you are going to have to look at the A3 1.5TFSI or a lower spec A4 to get £350 per month with £3k deposit.

Or look at lease deals if you're set on new? Say a A4 1.4TSI Black Edition for abut £5,700 over 24months with 8k miles....Nearly what you are paying in the first year of a PCP...obviously any option will increase the price by the cost of the option though.

If you're not set on new, then I would personally recommend a 1 year old version of the same car with some options. For example, a 66plate A4 S-Line 2.0TFSI S-tronic can be had for £21k. Trade in valuations have it around £15k, so £6k for 2yrs driving, with warranty and everything. Imagine you could get at least £1k more in a private sale, so could be dead cheap....even with a loan costing you £700 over 24months (@3.4% APR).

Car has to be maximum 1 year old but I cant find one for some reason for that price bud.
My bank is offering me 19k at 4.4% 352 a month. You got me thinking now. Borrow 18-19k and use 2-3k i saved, but thats if I can find one

Been offered a4 2.0 stronic sline with extended interior led, HHA, foldy mirrors for 28097 at carwow. Thats with audi and dealer contribution so we talking over 6k discount.
I only need these opions with a4 because everything else i need and want is included in sline package. Im not after VC and all that

If you're borrowing, try Sainsburys. They were offering 2.9% a month or so ago.

But what if my application will be unsuccessful, that means credit check and less chance to get it at my bank where its guaranteed at that rate :(

Yea that seems about right.

So over 36m/30k miles that would be £3k upfront payment, 35 payments £326 and a final payment of £15,387.

Or there are these lease deals over 24months:

Audi A6 1.8TFSI S-Tronic Black Edition @ 8,000miles for £299 on a 1+23 deal:
https://leasecars.online/product/audi-a6-1-8tfsi-black-edition-saloon-4dr-s-tronic/

Might be ones for the A4 2.0TFSI S-Tronic as well?

I know there is a very cheap deal for the A4 1.4TFSI S-Line Manual, which as I say totals about £5,700 over the 24months.

For a direct comparison, the A4 on a 24month PCP would be £3k upfront and £375 per month, Total = £12,000
The A6 on a lease is £299 over 24m, Total = £7,176
Folding door mirrors are a £280 option, and HHA is standard. Don't know what the LED interior thing is...? There is a 'Ambient Lighting' option for £550. So those options brings the total to £8,006. Still £4k cheaper if 8,000 miles is enough?

Whether it's correct or not I'm not sure, but I read that you can check whether you're likely to be accepted without anything appearing on your credit file until you make a full application.

Are you comparing like for like though with the S3, with the same options as a A4, including those fitted as standard, an S3 saloon with comes out discounted at nearly £40k.
https://www.orangewheels.co.uk/enquiries/b9fce2/enquiry_details/new.html
Even a A3 2.0l saloon with similar, but not quite as many, options comes out at £34.5k but it is quattro.
I have also looked at A4's on auto trader at 66 plated cars
ttp://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201711301696721?atmobcid=soc3
Of course the other thing about the A4 is that the quattro has the 252ps engine. So if I was buying used that would be the one I'd go for. But it is always down to personal preferences.
I'm paying £324 per month for mine with fixed servicing cost at £9.56 per month...

Just had to pay £3000 to sell the mrs q2 after 6 months, because it’s so small. Needed something bigger, so just spent another £1500 leasing a new Tiguan, I put a pretty big deposit down on the s3, so just want some money back. I’m looking at wewantany car, they offered £29000. So anything over that I’ll take

Love the interior. I assumed that VC was standard in A5’s.

When I purchased my A3 Sportback back in March 2017 I wanted the 2.0TDI-184 in Sport trim with s-tronic and that was only available with quattro. The TDI-150 was and still is available with manual or s-tronic with no quattro but as I wanted the 184 it had to be quattro. Looking at the current price list the TDI-184 is now only available as an S-Line, which I would not want, and as a 184 quattro s-tronic.

Fortunately by the time I want to change the new 2019/20 version will be out, so I will have to see what models they are making available. Hopefully with a similar facia setup to the new A7 and not the existing MMI. My wife's VW Polo is coming up to 3 years old so we will soon be looking at the new 2019 Polo, examples of which are just arriving at the dealers.

No mate, VC was extra and then you have to have the tech pack as well, same as the A3/S3. I like the normal A5 dash anyhow :)
