ok - im gonna try this one again. Last time i posted this was about a month before I bought the car... lived with is now for a few months and i want my Ipod!

car is a 2013 - it has the concert stereo ... no cd changer, no maps (which is another thing id like actually.. but thats another subject)

theres an Aux input in the arm rest.

i want to put in a connection so that i can plug the ipod. cannot find ANYWHERE anyone providing answers.

so, has anyone done this on their can, and please could you point me in some directions to look?

greatly appreciated.

You were advised to fit Audi AMI last time. I assume you then Googled "Audi Retrofits" and did not find anyone suitable.

How can we help you futher?

Well beamerboy.... Maybe I caught the wrong tone from you here... But your reply comes across very rude... And at risk of getting a slapped wrist... Makes you out to be a bit of a 'see you next Tuesday'... If you can't help, don't reply.

I've googled extensively. I've found all sorts of adapters from connect2 to xlink ... But so called non suitable for my car

I do a hell of a lot of stuff on my own, from cars to around the house, I don't need anyone to hold my hand... I just wondered if anyone, perhaps people who hadn't seen my last post... Had any further experience... Cause i sure as hell cannot find any information on where to go next.

Thanks for taking the time to reply though :)

Hey man I’ve got a 2008 a4 I’m quite interested to see what comes of this thread as it would be good to see a thread where people put a valuable input into a legitimate question and what I would of considered quite a straight forward one at that. What have people done to get iPods and iPhones to work in their car! Lol
I am like you and I’ve searched and searched and I have lots of options, however I would like to know what route some people have gone.

If it's a 2008 I can find you some links tomorrow to stuff I've found. That's that last year I think for these particular modules but they are about 70/80 quid. How you fit them... I dunno... But I'm sure they will come with some form of instructions!

Fyi I got a quote from my local Audi to do this.... £655.....

Damn £655 that’s a bit heavy.
Yea that’s great if you can send me some more info I just want as much as I can to get the best out of the audio system that in it at the moment without a massive expenditure. I was thinking of just getting the car kit that goes in the arm rest and buying a old iPod to new iPhone adapter if that’s even a thing haha...

Yea that's a thing haha. But it all depends on your car stereo as to if these little kits fit. 2008 I believe is good. I'll find the page and send it tomorro

That would be awesome mate.
I’ve seen a few things on eBay that look like they may work but some are 100£+

here you go mate - this is the one i was talkin about

http://www.xcarlink.co.uk/product.php?productid=99&cat=4&page=1

now it does say 2006 - 2014 ..... but idont have any of the stereo models listed on the "compatability" tab - so i doubt its for me. but it may be good for you. other wise, if you click on audi on the left hand side, you can see all the others they have

I just converted all my music from iTunes back to an MP3 format and put them on an sd and run that way depending on the head unit

Though if I'm using Spotify I use the aux in lead

I've just been and bought a 32gb SD card tonight and out music on that. Giving up on it now!

Had a quote today from an independent garage... £450

I don't know where they make their prices up! Saying that the modules are like £250 new... So it's all expensive.

I retrofitted AMI to my 2010 A4 with a symphony stereo (The concert is the same set up as they are both CAN based. I think all in it cost me £150 in parts. I fitted and programmed it myself. Got the module off EBAY for around £80 and the loom from Audi which was £40 odd. The loom comes with fitting destructions. The factory look fit requires a new glove box to hold the module but at £200 a piece I sacked that off and fitted it on top of the original and run the wire through the back this way I kept all the glovebox space. You will need an adapter for you Ipod to plug into the AMI. Depending on the Ipod there are a lot of different options.

Kufatec to a nice little net that slots in the top of the glove box to hold the ipod.

You're right, I was being very rude because it seemed as if you were whinging. I apologize.

Here is one offer - https://www.hazzydayz.com/genuine-audi-ami-ipod-kit-infotainment-357-p.asp - it might not be precisely what you're after but the MD, Gareth, is an experienced ex-VW/Audi technician who really knows his stuff. It's always worth a call becuase the retro-fitters cannot always advertise every single service available.

Your cd player has a cd/sd button and not the media button, this CD/SD button was only fitted to very early B8s I went through the same when I bought my last 2008 car. The cd/sd unit can't accept upgrades, as it has no “ports” so i had to buy a whole new unit for 200quid. Then i had to get the ami fitted for 350. This was for my ipod classic though so i don't know how it would work with the phone for Bluetooth. I believe once you plug in you lose all phone functionality.

It's also not possible to Bluetooth stream music, even if you have the built in Bluetooth. It's strictly for calls only, apart from the very latest 2014 onsat nav mmi i think

Hello from across the pond. If your interested there is another option. Check out rsnav Not sure all versions are available for right hand drive. You may have similar options from other chinese manufacturers, these are special units that were spec'd out by an actual A4 owner. His name is Daniel Kim and he will answer any questions you may have. Demos up on YouTube as well. These units are running Android 6.0 or Apple Car play. They use Octacore vs Quad core. I personally have the 8.8 inch on order. Cheers
