Hi all, im looking at taking out the factory headset set and putting in a double din, not bothered if its after market or audi but must blue tooth to my phone for music and be adaptable to the mfsw.

what do u guys recomend??

I'd go for something with Android Auto/Apple CarPlay personally if you've got one of the two phone's.

you wont get full mfsw compatabilty with aftermarket , but very close, I replaced my oem double DIN with a pioneer head unit and it works brill, full BT function , DVD playback , excellent sound and a whole raft of other nice touches.

mate, you need to be over in the in ice forum, there's loads of info in there, i've got an android unit and it was a pain getting to work without feed back coming through the speakers, took ages to suss out as not many had them when i fitted it, you need to find out if you have full or half bose to start with as both have different ways to get round the issue's.

My old bus has full bose , I just purchased the correct fitting kit to connect up the pioneer with full bose and quad lock and that was it, job done and been very happy with it, sound quality has been exceptional .
As tony says aswell, if you want a better overview of things , check the ICE section , you'll get a broader range of feedback and info whereas you'll only probably get B7 specific help in this section.

Hi,

Having recently become the proud owner of my A4 sline se with Bose, I am a little disappointed with the sound quality.

Currently have the symphony 6cd in-dash head unit (believe this is the symphony II?? - I don't think it's possible to get the 'hidden eq' settings for this model.

I've seen the pioneer da120 for good price in Halfords, I would be very interested to hear how

1) How i can tell which Bose setup I have (full/half)?
2) when installing aftermarket is it best to totally bypass the Bose altogether and use the HU to drive the speakers directly? Or, by the correct harness to sit in between the HU and the factory wiring loom?

Lastly, any recommended installers in the West Midlands area?

Many thanks in advance

Garry

bump... does anyone have any advice regarding replacement double-DIN in particular the Pioneer DA120?

Thanks :)

I have just changed my double din for a Kenwood dmx7017dabs
Kenwood DMX7017DABS all I can say is its amazing has apple car play and android auto more presets than your need, Bluetooth, USB out to which I have a 500gb HD connection for more music than you can shake a stick at dab radio, reversing camera connections if required, 7"hd touch screen, I'm very happy with it just look it up, it's worth every penny and some

Cheers Noz

Do you have the bose setup? The bit I don't get - do you use a harness between the head unit and the car loom (and then it still powers speakers using bose amp) or do you use the head unit amp bypassing the bose?

How does it sound?

Cheers

Garry
