I've only had it 2 days.....my my what a machine!!

I also have a Stage 2 3.0tdi Avant B8 and it feels ancient in comparison.

The steering and handling of this generation are a massive improvement.

The sound is beautiful.

Good man. I emailed MRC back in Oct and they said "Nothing yet. Nobody has cracked the encryption yet".

Photos look familiar I may have seen these on Babybmw? Awesome car you have there!

Yes I am a BMW defector.

I used to be a fan of the rear wheel action. Now I'm a fan of the traction!

Lol hello Gary lots of babybmw people in this forum lol

Congrats mate

Mine is also an avant but with nava blue
Could you actually feel the sport diff working? Mine also get one and I'm not sure if the sport diff is working since I rarely push my s4 to its limit.

You shouldn't really "feel" the diff kicking in. I've had electric diff on other cars and you can actually feel it grabbing hold which I wasn't a fan of. An example is the JCW Mini. It's almost like the car locks onto a driving line, it feels very unnatural and robotic. Don't get me wrong, JCW has remarkable handling I just didn't enjoy the diff.

I have driven an S4 without sports diff and you can definitely feel the difference. I've noticed you can put power down a lot earlier with the diff and car feels more nimble even at low speeds.

To take full advantage of diff you need to be feeding some power round the bend, not lightly coasting. I imagine it comes into its own at much higher speeds.

Yes it should be seamless, unobstrusive and just get on with the job of providing better traction...

Yes, demonstrates the S4 is a great alternative to the 340i and vastly superior in my opinion

I collected the Mrs from her Xmas party at 1am this morning and couldn’t believe the grip in icy conditions. My M235i would have been all over the place!

You should see what winter tyres are like!! Awesome grip in ice and snow.

I have winters on my diesel avant but the S4 has summers so I've not risked it the last few days.

Beautiful S4. Partial to a bit of DG myself!

Thanks man! Not driven it for 3 days though because of the snow. I really don't want to damage a brand new car.

Saw a video this morning of a remapped 2.0tfsi A4 beating a stock S4 in a drag...... therefore remap is being booked in ASAP lol

Unless someone knows something I don't (very probable), there's no remap options for the S4 anywhere yet...

Agreed, my rs3 handling is alot better than my s3 and also pre-facelist rs3

Will at Performance Torque reckons he can remap a B9 S4. I asked him about a month ago on the phone.

There are UK videos on YouTube of remapped B9 S4 cars.

Oli, how are you finding the instrument display at night time. Read somewhere else it can get a bit bright?

Not noticed it being too bright. There is a switch to dim the display if needed anyway. I can't fault the cockpit in any way.

I’ve set my * button on steering wheel to change drive select modes.

Has anyone else noticed it just doesn’t work sometimes?

You gotta hold in the * button to select what operation it does and save again. Maybe needs software update.

It’s got to be said, at 2500 revs with medium throttle, this car sounds ****** amazing! Really throaty gargle sound mmmmmmmmm

I keep manually upshifting to keep the car in the “gargle zone” lol

That doesn’t sound quite right as I also have mine set to change drive select modes and not has d this issue. May be a software update required as you suggest

It's not the first time this button 'issue' has been mentioned, however you are unlikely to get any audi dealership to update the software unless directed to by audi germany...

Its happened to me once. Restart the car and it worked again.

I just meant the MMI update feature, there is an option to check for software update....or does that simply affect the MMI setup only?

It’s not a big issue and rarely happens. If you hold the * button in and select the feature again it works straight away, no need to restart car.

I also blocked my MMI app on my phone because I entered the password wrong too many times on the iPad lol it can only be unblocked by the dealer. Oops.

Unfortunately you cannot update the mmi yourself as the system is meant to be connected to the dealership's equipment then connected to audi servers to perform these updates..

My * button so,etimes doesn't work either. I'm new to Audi but this button not working and other 'odd' things I can't explain (I'll put this down to me never having an Audi before) does feel quite buggy.

It's a cracking car though, so all is forgiven. Immediately.

I wouldn’t worry it’s only minor bugs in software. Probably be updated soon enough.

This is why I would never have an autonomous car though. Imagine software freaking out when you’re not in control!

Father and son

(Stage 2 3.0 TDI Avant vs S4 Avant)

TDI is on winter wheels. 120,000 miles and strong. It's not actually much slower than the S4.
