Hi,

Just got a 2k7 S3 to replace my soon to go lease B9 A4. It has BOSE fitted which is nice enough for me (much better than the terrible rattly sound from the A4!)

I have the RNS-E, which has issues reading the satnav disc, I've pulled it out and cleaned the laser but it still has issues. It has an Adapter Universe Bluetooth module but this only seems to do music streaming (not calls) and control from MFSW does not work. The car has the factory dash mount and armrest phone preparation. Also has CD changer (OEM but ballast really).

I need sat nav, DAB and Bluetooth (for calls primarily). I currently have an iPhone 6S and a 5S.

Trying to work out options and wading through the billion posts on the subject hasn't really helped.

The only aftermarket stereo that will fulfill my requirements as far as I can see is the Kenwood 7017. Anyone got one? How easy is it to hook-up and are there any features that cannot be hooked-up - e.g. MFSW, speed volume adjust, etc.?

Don't think I am interested in the Android units (had cheap aftermarket units before, they're good but also not good at the same time). I'd rather not ruin the BOSE.

Other option seems to be get a replacement laser for the RNS-E - but what can I do about Bluetooth calls and DAB? Not interested in anything that needs to be controlled outside of the RNS-E or the MFSW controls.

Is there some way I can hook-up my phones to use the built-in phone prep? The only cradles I've seen for my phones look to be for later phone prep generations(?).

Also interested in what I can do about some sort of parking camera/alerting without butchering my car? (holes/cutting - can't return to OEM without replacing parts). Is there anything else useful/cool I could do in a similar vein?

Bit of an epic post in the end but sure there must have been at least one person in the same sort of situation... TIA.
