o the trusty M235i has now gone and i have my awesome new S4 :)

As I mentioned previously this was a 'forced' change due to practicality requirements so whatever replacement i go for has large shoes to fill. So after looking at various options I decided the practicality, all weather ability and interior quality of the S4 was my preferred option. Having found a car in Audi stock that fit my specifications, just 3 weeks later the handover was complete!

Its early days however I am extremely happy so far. The S4 looks and sounds fantastic with the interior being so far ahead of the 3 series its laughable! Initial impressions are that the steering does not feel quite as direct as the Beemer which is no surprise however the ride is far more compliant and composed. The cabin is quieter with less tyre roar and wind noise however the engine gives an awesome sound when hitting 4krpm! I've gone no further up the rev range yet as am still running in but i expect it to sound epic and i would guess it must be louder than the M235i from outside.

I'm having difficulty connecting my Audi Connect MMI with my phone app as the MMI is not recognizing my primary user code/details but should figure this out pretty quickly.

Further updates, thoughts and comparisons to come as i get to know the car however here are a couple of photos. I will get some better pics in due course but may spend most of my time driving for now!

Glad you've now got your hands on it.

Mines now run in and taking its full potential round to the red line on certain times, it really does come alive and definitely a weapon!

The grey and magma combo is lovely, what dash trim did you get with yours?

I bet you are glad you have finished running her in so you can put your foot down and enjoy the pace and exhaust note!

The dash trim was actually one of the compromises I had to make due to taking a stock car. It’s piano black which actually looks fantastic however is covered in finger marks already which will no doubt drive me mad! What about you?

The other point I comprised on was adaptive suspension however I’m glad I took the risk as coming from firm cars I find the ride composed and comfortable without. We’ll see how I get on long term but it’s fine so far

Yes the exhaust note is intoxicating and just a joy to hear!

I opted for the carbon trim, it does look great and a nice touch, I'm sure piano looks great but the finger marks were putting me off that as you've confirmed.

I've got adaptive but having test driven a demo without I wouldn't say it's night and day, just a tad softer in comfort and maybe a little more harder in dynamic.

The sport diff though is amazing and just propels the car around corners like nothing I've driven, my S3 didn't inspire such confidence!

What does the carbon trim look like do you have any pics? I did look at the S3 saloon as an option also however the biggest turn off was the amount that get stolen I was shocked at the percentage!

Well I took her out for a spin earlier when going to the gym and could not resist taking another pic as I do like the quad exhaust :)

Stunning S4. Manhattan looks a lot darker than what I thought it would of been, and the colour contrast with the interior is perfection! Enjoy.

Don't see many Manhattan grey's on the road, usually lots of Daytona's, it's a bit dark for me but yes the contrast looks great and don't see many of this grey on the road.

Thanks mate yeah it is pretty dark but looks great in the sunshine. I’m hoping it will not show up the dirt too much which is the issue I’ve had with black cars in the past

That’s interesting to know that there are not that many out there. I guess one of the good things about switching brand is I had not preconceived ideas of which are the popular colours so went with what I like. It would be interesting to see Daytona and Manhattan side by side as they do look pretty similar in photos

I do miss the Sepang blue from my S3, that was such a lovely colour.

There were a few colours I considered for the S4 - white with black pack looks great but no doubt hard to keep looking clean, silver with black pack also nice but I've had a few silver cars, Navarra looks good but the more I saw it it felt too dark coming from the Sepang, however it does look awesome when the sun hits it...and then Daytona. Decided against black pack as had that on my S3 so fancied a change with the chrome detailing.

Best decision was the magma red interior though and just so nice to break up the dark interior and adds a different level inside I feel.

Sepang Blue is looks amazing and would have been my choice for an S3 also. I’m a big fan of blue cars and had Estoril Blue on my M135i which looked amazing in the sunshine.

I thought I would share some photos of the interior just because its new :)

The piano black trim looks great against the red leather however finger marks are driving me crazy already!

Beautiful S4!

I have seen many UK pictures with reg plates photoshopped, will any members please enlighten me why doing so?

Thank you!

Numberplate cloning is common here. That's one reason. Posting pics of your numberplate online means someone with the exact car can get a copy of your numberplate and put it on their car to commit crime.
I speak from experience! I had a courtesy car from a dealer while my car was in for a service, as is common, all their cars are listed for sale on their website.
I live in Yorkshire, yet someone from London 200miles away had seen the advert and put the numberplate on their identical car and committed all sorts of petty crime with it, I've been getting letters and fines for all sorts of traffic violations from automatic cameras in London since!!
