New S4 Order

My dealer booked the slot on the 4th July, and I took it over on 22nd August.

Options:
Sport Diff
Dynamic Steering
Adaptive Suspension
Hill Hold
Advanced Key
Light and Vision Pack
Folding Mirrors
Misano Red
 
My dealer placed the order on 27th July. so guessing yours should be built before mine.
 
I ordered on the 25th August. When I checked the tracker, it says the order date was the 30th July so I guess the dealer already had the slot booked in. I guess you depend on the dealer. I ordered through Maidstone Audi. I was speaking with the sales rep and apparently they are the 3rd biggest in terms of volume. Surprisingly, Edinburgh are the biggest. The build week keeps coming forward, originally started in December, is now showing 16th October.

I had a similar senario when I ordered through Maidstone Audi as well and the whole process was pleasantly quick. But don't let them prepare the car though as they are not very good...

The plan is to have it detailed with a ceramic coating applied. They will be under strict instruction not to touch it other than what they are obliged to do for the PDI!

Checked youraudi this morning, like i do everymorning (feel like i am turning into a stalker) and it says the car will be built on 16th October and when I check the Json data it says the car is at status 20, so shouldn't the website say the car is in preparation? the time stamp on the change of status was

so is it just the website taking a while to catch up.

Just takes a bit of time to catch up. On the whole, it's pretty reliable. You WILL become a stalker. Haha.

So does that mean the car will be built before the 16th or are they going to take 2 1/2 weeks to prep everything..
 
I'm sure it's going to come forward, looking through the track your order thread it's between 7 and 15 days to go from status 20 to 21.
 
just had to sign the offical CO2 and MPG change for the car. gave me the options to continue the order, cancel or order another car. Not bothered about the C02 or MPG so still going ahead. the changes wers

C02 has gone from 175 to 179
Combined mpg has gone from 37.2 to 35.8

Dealer hopes to have the car ready for pick up by 3rd week of November... I hate this waiting but can't see if being any earlier.

looking more closely at them i don't thin they will fit the S4 as they have a flat bottom but am sure new S4s are a different shape. can anyone with a 2018 S4 check?
 
Try the parts request service on here, that's how I got my silver mirror covers.

Or try the parts department in the link, they may have a set left

Found a set that should fit. do i risk buying them hoping they will fit. they are original OEM from an audi dealer but they cannot guarantee they will fit with the VIN or reg. but they are the same part number as Zippster used so they should fix. cannot see audi changing the design in the last few months....
 
Had exactly the same from a few dealers when I bought my OEM silver mirrors!
Didn't have my car or Vin number, went by the part numbers and they fitted perfectly.
Besides, if the price is good you can always sell them on.

Just to confirm, the only variant I'm aware of would be 'lane change' option as I believe this has a cut out in the mirror housing.
Do you have that option?

my car does not have lane change option and the mirrors don't have the cut out. so logic says they will fit.

i am tempted... might think about it overnight. wife wont be happy as still got a set of B8 carbon mirrors in the garage. so will have 2 sets of mirrors and no car.. :)

Ha ha I've still got my black OEM mirrors, thinking bout getting them hydro dipped in carbon which should hopefully make them more appealing for resale.

i would keep a hold of them and put the black ones on when you sell the car as you probably get more for a silver set then a black set..
 
order placed for the mirrors. got them from the same place as Zippsters so are genuine audi carbon mirrors. now to see if my dealer will fit them for free when they get the car in. I know i could do them myself but knowing my luck i would break something...

I personally like the chrome against the Daytona, glad I decided not to go black pack as it gives a great contrast and fancied a change from the black pack on my Sepang S3, however each to their own and the black does still look good but I wouldn't be a fan of blacking everything, badges and all.

However if you want the stealth look then go for it, it's your car and have to be happy with it mate.

Sorry, I just forgot what we were talking about when I saw the price... How much?! $740 (£560!!) for a handful of badges?!

I like the gloss black but I just painted my rear one. Cost me £15 in paint and sandpaper. Granted the other ones would be more of a pain to try and get right, but that’s daylight robbery!

The prices did surprise me and would never pay that. but was good to see some pictures of a daytona grey car with satin black badges. Have asked my dealer what it would cost to have them painted. They are already fitting my Carbon Mirrors for free. :)

Dealer must be bored today as come back very quickly with a price of £250 to paint all the chrome satin black... will have to do some thinking...
 
Car is now status 39. So hoping I should get the car within the next 2 weeks. :) :)

Mine is 20days behind yours.

And now I’m wondering if i should have added Driver assistant pack... the dangers of waiting.

i didn't got for any of the assistant packs as would never use them and just enjoy driving the car
