Just a quick post to confirm I have completed OEM reversing camera install on my 2015 FL A6 Avant. This has MIB2 MMI (tech pack). All the basics of the install are well covered elsewhere but hopefully the following will assist anyone else.
1. Camera Control Unit - FL cars are supposed to have an updated control unit but they seem to fetch big money on Ebay so I decided the try the pre FL unit which has a 54 pin connector. There are only 6 wires to connect to it so hardly worth buying the loom. There is is CAN bus connector block next to the fuses (2 wires) then power/gnd - I fitted a connector to a spare fuse slot. Last two are camera pos/neg.
2. MMI (5F) coding - this is no longer in the long coding. It is now an adaptation. There are two VPS entries, enable the first and set the second one to Terminal 15 - there is also a code required on Central Electrics (09) Byte 35 bit 4 to 1.
Everything is was straightforward (if not time consuming) just have to be careful not to break clips.
Next will be to try and calibrate it using a homemade calibration board. Thanks to Alex from vag car coding for his assistance with the adaptation on the 5F - you don't need the dongle that others sell for loads of money. Happy to provide any help clarification if needed.
