Hi All,

I am new to this forum, but not new to car forums. As a teen/early twenties I was really into french hot hatches but after being given a company car (+having two kids) I have been driving insanely sensible cars for the last 7 years or so. I recently decided to take allowance instead of company car (Damn you increasing BIK %s) which has given me a bit of flexibility. Anyway that's a boring preamble for the exciting news:

I am just finalising a lease deal for a 2.0 TFSI (190) Saloon, Black edition, Tech Pack, Comfort and Sound Pack & Interior Lights Package.

I am really excited to see Quantum grey in the metal, I have seen one Q2 out in the wild and a few more at dealerships but yet to see it on an A4. I think this style of flat grey will soon really kick off in popularity so I want to jump onto the bandwagon before it starts picking up pace.

Picture of my chosen options below, what does anyone think? and about the chosen options?

Welcome to ASN. Nice choice of car! I also have a A4 BE saloon on order, and seriously toyed with the idea of Quantum and 2.0 TFSI, but ended up going for Daytona Grey due to not being sure on the look of it from pictures I seen on line - just not sure it works as well on the A4 body! Due to mileage I also changed to TDI power!

In relation to your spec, your options along with standard kit will make it perfect. When do you get it?

Welcome to Audi-sport.net. Spec and colour look nice. What's the wait for it? Hope you enjoy the forum :)

Hi, Good choice, quantum Grey has really grown on me since I ordered mine, I've seen a Few around I'll drop the links below, the only thing is in your image the BE has 18" Alloys have you picked them for a reason as the 19"s come standard and set the car off in my opinion , I've found pics with both wheels for you :)

Looks very nice in Quantum and was my second choice, but, I have this weird issue about the black windows (as in I don't like them) and even asked the dealer if I could have a BE without the black windows :) In the end (and having seen one in the dealers), I went for Brilliant Black as I thought the whole black paint, black bits and black windows worked OK......subtle.

Agree with Brandon over the 19" Rotors, although the 18" would probably give a bit of a smoother ride and do look good in black. I just think bigger is better with wheels and am sure bumpy town roads are normal now anyway :)

Nice options, and I was tempted by the Teck Pack too, but decided I'd rather have the full leather instead of the standard seats......have to draw the line somewhere.

Now all I want is to see some progress with my order; the tracker becomes a really annoying part of each morning.

Looks good, the more I've seen quantum grey the more I like it, personally black wheels are not my thing but then again I'm not too keen on the rotors either (I prefer wheels to be, well alloy wheel coloured, so silver) but I'm aware I'll probably be in the minority there and lets face it, it'd be dull as dishwater if we all liked exactly the same.

Bet you can't wait to get it now eh.

Thanks for the comments and for those pictures, I have had Quantum grey on my mind since going to Geneva this year and seeing the line of them there. I didn't know at the time they were going to make it an affordable colour so i'm chuffed.

The 18" wheels were a deliberate choice, although I wasn't overly keen on either TBH, I preferred the 19" V Spoke but apparently we will have to wait a while until they offer them on the BE?

My daily commute is only actually 6 miles at the moment so I could afford to go for a low mileage lease and petrol - I've not had a petrol in a number of years so looking forward to that

Only filled out the paperwork last night so i'm just waiting to hear what the lead time is. It's the first time I have got a car where it will arrive on the day exactly how I want it so it's very exciting

I know it's an Avant but you get the idea.

Two more for you Brandon (although wrong wheels for you) :tongueout:

Ligthing and quality of camera really does make a difference with this colour!

I don't like it, looks like wet primer to me. However I hope you're happy, that's all that counts...

I actually agree with your comments, hence why I didn't go with Quantum myself. It just doesn't work on the A4, but with the Q2 it does work quite well.

I enjoy the comment on primer, it was how it was originally referenced when we first saw it in Geneva. However my daughter has subsequently used "white grey" which I quite like as it sounds less.....unfinished!

Just got an email from Audi with an estimated build date of week 45 (6th November) and an estimated week delivery 49 (4th December)

The order number doesn't yet work on yourAudi, guess it takes a bit of time to register?

So, I got an email earlier this week to go into the dealership & sign the finance papers,

I couldn't get in until today so just before I picked up my keys to head out, I thought I would check the current status....

Yippee. It wasn't actually there as apparently the transporter leaves Sheerness in the morning and Peterborough is one of the last stops. My contact said she wouldn't let me see it anyway as didn't want to ruin the big reveal!

So, I have to wait the whole weekend and i'm picking it up on Tuesday afternoon

That's 9+1 weeks from order confirmation to collection - not too shabby (sorry all 19" rota guys :tonguewink:)

Glad you are happy with the car and the look. This colour and style is very much in vogue in Southern Germany on Audi/BMW vehicles where they love to black out everything and remove all badges and engine designation badges. I saw quite a few cars done like this on a recent trip to Munich.

Personally it is not my thing at all and I believe it will go out of fashion and be more difficult to pass on later but it is definitely a more unique look.

Enjoy....

I love that colour.. would have chosen it on the S4 if it was available.. Also love Nardo Grey and Gotland Green, neither of which you can get on the S4 either (although Gotland is available on the S4 in Germany, annoyingly).

So it's been nearly a year with the Grey4. I have done around 9k miles and only seen two other Quantum greys on the road, neither of which had the black 18" wheels.

I'm still absolutely smitten with the car, including all the extras and options I chose. It's been a while since I've had a car that I look back at every day as I'm walking into work and long may it continue.

I searched high and low for pictures of this spec when deciding on mine so I have added a load of (unfiltered) pictures from over the last year so those who are undecided can see how the colour changes throughout different lights and seasons....

Looks great! Can you tell me if this finish is metallic or non-metallic? It's a choice for my new 2019 S5, but the order guide says it's "Quantum Gray Metallic"...but yours and others look flat/nonmetallic to me?

The Quantum Gray looks great! Very interesting how the different sun light effects the colour. Notice you've de badged the TFSI. Might do that myself. What method did you use to do it?

It was a factory option to have it deleted... although when it arrived I was unsure on the A4 badge and the dealership offered to take it off, said it’s easy enough and doesn’t leave a mark once cleaned up

What's the performance/economy like with the 2.0tfsi buddy.

Thanks for the photos above @JF3RGY! I've ordered a new S5 in Quantum with the black pack. Should be on the production line this week with arrival into Sydney late Jan / Early Feb.
Not seen too many Quantum Grey cars here in Australia yet except the odd Q2 and found it can be a bit green in certain lighting (hard to explain the greenish tinge). Have you found that?
