Afternoon all,

I've been thinking for a while about OEM upgrades to my S3 and would really appreciate a directory of all of the OEM retrofits available. I figured it could be useful for all users.
The main thing would be list of parts needed, tips and advice, costs associated and maybe any user guides if people have them. Of course this would need people in the know to fill out the bits and pieces (I have no idea). What do you guys think?

I understand what you're saying but I think the purpose of this is to list the parts for those who want a DIY retrofit. If we can source our own parts and complete the fit then we're only saving money. There are however updates I won't do myself like front parking sensors which is where I'll be visiting @Ash187.

In general I think this thread is a good idea for DIY'ers

I see, I think I misinterpreted the intention of the thread. I did think of creating a WhatsApp group chat some time ago for reasons such as this. It'd be quite handy in a scenario where for example you're sat in your car halfway through a retrofit and you're unsure of the next step e.g. where certain wires go or how to install a particular thing, simply ask on the WhatsApp group chat and everyone will be notified immediately rather than waiting for someone to stumble across your thread.

i am not trying to pi** on your chips as i find the idea great but the site has most off the things listed already in posts so it is just a matter off looking for them . The one thing i would say about the old posts is the pics are not there to view on site which is a pain

Good points you make although the reasoning behind a group chat is that in certain aspects it is advantageous over a forum based on the fact it would be a live chat. Of course it is not limited to discussions on retrofits, conversations could include any kind of general chat consisting of topics that may be of interest to people who wouldn't initially search it on a forum if that makes sense.

I love this forum and the information it provides/has provided to me as been invaluable and educational. I feel forums in general are very organised thus making everything user friendly however this can limit threads to a specific audience although the thread or at least it's contents may be of importance to many more participants than the aforementioned demographic.

My aim was to have all the information in 1 place so people can make informed decisions as whether to pursue DIY fitting or asking companies to do it.
I was all for retrofitting a couple of things until I saw the amount of parts needed to change

It's true that the same subjects come up time and time again but i think its a good thing because it brings the topics back to the head of the list and new people have new ideas about how to do things. The alternative is a forum that becomes a data base and search engine with fewer and fewer new posts.
