Dilemma - B9 S4 or B8 RS4

That 4.2 litre v8 blows the s4 engine away purely on sound and feel. It turns heads anywhere but the thing that keeps the b9 s4 in contention for me is the better tech and the virtual cockpit. I know it shouldn't be that big a deal but the interior in the b9 just seems like a great place to be.

It's simply class leading. The interior. I've said it before but my interior feels like it's worth the £50k. The B9 S4 is punchy. Just drove back from Harrogate over the hills and it really is quite a machine. Sounds great too with the valve mod. The torque and weight are the biggest improvements. I doubt I could drive the RS4 like that on these roads.

Although I've heard in dynamic that it becomes very very capable. When I test drove years ago I didn't push it that much. Becoming a damn good thread this. A lot of people seem to have the same questions.

Edit* Just realised that was a 'pro' B9 S4 comment Whoops. RS4 all the way!

I do agree. However the only issue with the b9 interior is the stick on screen. Some days I like it others I don't. I do love the idea of virtual cockpit but that is it. I love the interior of my B8 ATM. I think I have made my decision on what to do. Will let you know more soon.

I really like the interior of the B9 apart from the tablet stuck on the dash board.
I really think that should retract.

I was in my local dealer today and they had an S5 convertible in the showroom and that looked good, but the car that I really liked was a Sepang RS7, that was gorgeous!

I've seen some right mashups on these haha. The cream and black look great though. It's the wheels I don't like but if you get the spec right, it's s great run out Edition!

It's not for me, I hated it on the B5 at the time.

Yeah paint quite nice actually. Just that blue suede Seen a Kingfisher Blue one at Prestige Auto in York. So nice that. I'd kill for an ara though

Really ara seems such a wish wash colour on anything but a r8 to me. I quite like the negaro edition inside poss a Subaru thing but I don't like the paint work lol.
B8 rs4 for me has to have sport pack with v spokes not rotors

Hell yes. The rotors make it look so old for some reason. 20" V spoke look epic.

Just a quick update.

I am about 20 mins away from signing the paperwork on the RS4. (What a surprise). Drove the car and it was fault less. Interior is immaculate, few stone chips on the oustside. But that's expected of the age of car. Has matching Bridgestone potenza s007 threw. Brand new brakes (front and rear), just been serviced. So nothing to do for 18,000 miles or 2 years. Just negotiating a good price and could have the car by next Wednesday. Feels a bit surreal that I will be owning an RS4

A week will fly by, I had to wait 4 weeks to pick mine up. That did drag a bit!
I insured mine with Aviva on a multi car.

Off the top of my head, RS4, mk 1 TT qS and the wife's 1.4 TSI Beetle about £1100-1200.
Full protected no claims on all cars, I am 48 and wife 44.

Getting the calling for an RS4

Had the calling since I seen it in Top Gear magazine 2012! Haha. But last 6 months, very much so as the prices are falling. I've waffles on enough about it in my other posts but was just curious as Alexanders don't list their APR.

The dilemma is, stick with my (brilliant) Audi dealer guy who goes the extra mile, really doesn't care about my mileage and gets me great discounts BUT...moving into used Audi APR, I'm going to hit problems. Let's be honest. 9.9 is best I've seen from them. Compared to 3.9 on my current S4.

OR, go local, lower APR but probably not the same flexibility or tolerance for mileage. Oh, and they'd have to buy me out of my current PCP. Haha. Going to get a VW finance settlement figure in March but it won't be pretty being 15months into a 48month term.

So yes, I'm thinking about it. You certainly added to it with your thread haha. Any word btw?

Try looking too motonovo finance or Halifax for pcp. Both do very low apr on PCP. I am with motonovo and got a better deal then Audi and was decent Apr and mileage excess. But as I never plan to hand the car back I am not too worried about it.

Garage are annoying me. Phoned me to ask what the actual issue was to pass to technicians. So sent them the Audi cam my local dealer did. Still no idea if they are going to fix it or give me my money back. Latest from the garage was it was going in for diagnostic next week. In the mean time i am getting used to the S6. Very nice car and gets to silly speeds very quickly, but it's not an RS. The wife would happily have the S6 as it's more sensible. But there is no fun in that.

That's crap mate. Nobody is going to want to admit this kind of fault in my opinion. But the responsibility is with the place that sold you it. What would you LIKE to happen? Best case?

Motonovo? One of the worst I've seen. 9.9 on auto trader ads I'll go direct to website now.
