Other than a bumper with sensors and the pdc control module (+vagcom to enable) what else do I need?

Currently the car has an aftermarket kit installed which doesn't work.

Thanks.

Dash button. Or maybe it is for the option with front parking aid.

Anyway, if you need a switch, drop me a pm as have one of those for sale.
Check Classifieds.

Ok cheers. I'd guess that's for front only which I don't have / probably won't do.

Well, the switch activates the whole parking system, front and rear.

I'm just saying ... switch I got, is still available

Wouldn't they just be activated on reverse? How much is the switch? Pm if you like.

Mine just has the rear sensors, no button on the dash and they are indeed activated when reverse gear is selected.

Yes, whether you have rear parking assist or with the front also, they are activated with the reverse gear. But when you have the front ones also and parking front and need to activate them, it would be silly to quickly select reverse and back to 1st gear.
That's why you install the parking aid switch, installed under the centre dash air vent.

Pm sent.

I thought that would be the case. At the moment I'm looking to replace the ***** rear ones for factory and may do the fronts at a later date if I change the front bumper.

Is this a big job to do?
I would of thought it'd be:

Put sensors in bumper + harness.
Plug into parking module.
Plug module into comfort module??
Code with vagcom.

@Crossmax was sarcastic with question of activating the front sensors when you front parking and cannot be asked to use the designated switch.

In reply, no, it isn't. Just the case of pressing the button which is intended to do so and designed for that purpose. I do so as I think it is easier and if you have manual gearbox, like I do, it might put less strain on clutch parts, I think.

The module for front and rear sensors is different to the one for rear only (not two separate modules for front and rear), so might be worthwhile deciding on which to go for before you start.
I think that there are two speakers with front and rear and only one just for the rear.
You may also require some mounting brackets for the module and the speakers.

Cheers. Brackets aren't an issue, work for a construction / production company so can get those knocked up.
