I have just bought the 190 bhp version of the Sport Auto. It allows me to change the drive to dynamic/comfort/efficiency, etc. I can also 'select' the dynamic steering and gearbox option when in 'individual' drive. However, I find that the suspension is awful, it is too high and is too soft. I know I should have bought the S line now, but in the meantime, does anyone know if it is possible to change the suspension either through Audi (expensive!) or through another garage. I realise that, if I follow the latter, my warranty will be invalidated but I am so frustrated that I can't get a decent drive out of this good car.

Must be something with that version. I've got the standard suspension on my A3 1.0TSI Sportback Sport trim S-tronic and I find the suspension a bit on the hard side if anything on the 17" wheels. Mind you how I want to drive and feel at 67 is probably different to you at 190 BHP!

Thanks, Dave.

I'm not expert on this matter but the cheaper solution would be to get aftermarket springs/shock absorbers.

Like I said. My knowledge is very limited but if you ask over in the A3 8v forum I'm sure you'll get some really good help

Did you spec the car yourself. I was wondering if the car had the SE suspension option.

When I test drove mine (Sport) I thought the suspension was too hard on country roads so specced the SE suspension and am happy with it. Plenty firm enough I think.

I think you could have specced the S-Line suspension on a Sport so would not have had to actually order the whole S-Line trim level.

I did the same with my 2.0TDI-184 Sport. I found the Sport suspension a bit on the hard side, especially for long journeys and country roads so I too specified the SE or Dynamic suspension as Audi now call it. Handling is still perfectly ok.

Thank you Jimbo.
