Facelift UK RS3 Saloon/SB (400ps) Order Thread...

My magnetic ride isn't showing on my tracking system? Is it called something else maybe? It's just showing RS sports suspension.
Any ideas people?

Ah right, that makes sense haha... me too but mine had to be non-refundable because I got Exclusive.

I am only putting down £3k anyway.

My dealer had 4 sportback and 3 saloons I am sure it was. I was the 3rd I believe making it 1 saloon and 2 sportbacks ordered.

There will be no official discounts, some people will get something but would be more of a dealer contribution for return customers, contacts, previous issues or sometimes just a little bit of luck.

I was asked what deposit I wanted to leave, they suggested £1k after I asked whats the norm - which was fine with me.

What happens if you go to a dealer and the allocation has gone? Can the car not longer be ordered from that specific dealer or will they get a fresh allocation at a later date?

And would anyone know how long there is to order an RS3 before the run is stopped?

No you can still order, a dealer gets an allocation to sell and these are the orders that they place in their spec but can be altered to fit yours. Before I ordered mine, it was a November build slot on offer to me and despite mine being exclusive it still stayed in November. If you order one outside of allocation, you go to the back of the queue effectively.

Who knows but probably 6-9 months.

I ordered two days after the order books opened and a week before it went live on the UK Configurator and all my dealers allocations of 5 x RS3 Saloons, 5 x RS3 Sportbacks and 5 x RS5's had already been allocated, I couldn't believe it.

I was told I would be placed on a waiting list but he expected I would probably get moved up the waiting list and estimated mid November delivery.

After 2 wks I had been moved up the waiting list to an available build slot, 30th October which has since come forward a week to 23rd October. Looks like it will be a late November delivery for me.

If you had one of the first allocated build slots, you would probably have a build week in the next few weeks, delivery September.

Some dealers are busier than others so I guess that's why those in waiting will be moved up as other dealers fail to sell out of their initial allocation and Audi rejiggle things, it makes no sense for Audi to have people in waiting for long periods when there are UK slots (albeit not specific dealer slots) available.

If you place an order today from your dealer who has already sold out their allocation, you will most likely only wait a couple of weeks before you get a confirmed build. If I had to put a guess on it, you would most likely get a build slot late Nov / December time ready for a new year delivery if ordering today.

Final spec nailed down (Finally)

Panoramic Glass Sunroof - £1,075
Sports Exhaust -£1,000
Comfort & Sound Pack - £995
Gloss Black Styling Pack -£800
Front Supersports (Lunar Silver/Black Headlining) - £795
Ara Blue Crystal - £775
Privacy Glass - £375
Red Brake Calipers - £325
Extended Leather Interior - £275
Folding Door Mirrors - £275
TPMS - £250
High Beam Assist £150
Reversible Mat - £65

RS3 Saloon -£45,250
Options Value = £8,250
Total = £53,500

Family Discount = £4,182.37
Cost of Car to me = £49,317.63

Finance wise..

£49,317.63
£23,000 - Deposit
£26,317.63 - Credit
£26,261.80 - Final Optional Payment / GFV 3yr Value

35 payments of £133.46 (Essentially this is just financing the GFV for 3yrs at 6%)

Overall Cost to me = £23,000 + £4,671 in monthly payments = £27,671.
£9,223 per year / £768pm.

I was trying to keep spec pretty sensible (£50k) in order to keep depreciation at bay but with the family discount that I'm getting, I can't complain too much. My discount works out at 7.8% in real terms against the cost of the list price but I'm told the dealer discount is actually closer to 10% due to the fact the dealer cannot discount the £1,885 OTR costs or the 20% VAT element

Should look like the below pics...

Wow what a deposit, but that monthly repayment is a dream ;)

That is an incredible discount, don't complain about that at all.. extremely jealous.

£26.3k GFV will be £133pm interest. (3yr PCP)
£23.2k GFV will be £115pm interest. (4yr PCP)

You can't put in a higher deposit to bring your monthlies down below these GFV's

This applies to anyone using PCP finance using either of the 2 plans above. I put in maximum deposit so my monthly payment is only paying the interest on the residual value. I guess I'm paying for the cars depreciation up front. Anything left at the end of the 3yrs above £26.3k is a bonus.

Expensive hobby, cars.

indeed they are!

I see. It thought you couldn't go that close or on the GFV. Figured you needed to borrow something above the gfv

Excuse my lack of knowledge, never done pcp before and doubt it will this time but nice to know a little more.

My dad did his car on pcp but when it's 0% it's crazy not too

Yeah in my example below, it's set it just above the GFV, there was no other reason to it than to keep the maths clean on the deposit front.

£26,317.63 - Credit
£26,261.80 - Final Optional Payment / GFV 3yr Value

I'm only paying £56 off the balance over the 3yr term, the rest will be interest on the amount.

It's how they make their money I suppose. A lot of people are probably unaware that they are paying interest on their deferred future values.

Yes, on a 0% deal, a no brainer.

Just shows what margins are in these cars and the discounts (family or whatever) that can be had.

Lovely spec. I thought you preferred the Alu pack with the Ara Blue so the exhausts didn't get lost with black on black?

Looking forward to what you think. Used to read some of your reviews a while back, including the DTUK box on your S3. It's what swayed me to get one for my Golf R prior to the RS3.

The Alu pack is too stand out at the front for me, I prefer the look of the high gloss black and it fits my theme well with the wheels, privacy and the Pano roof. I still do prefer the chrome tips, however, I think an RS3 has to have the sports exhaust.

It's probably one of the must haves people will be looking for in the 2nd hand market too so it will be easier to sell and should command an additional premium over a car that doesn't have it.

In addition, it sounds great and I don't think I'll touch the aftermarket stuff (which will save me money there) I read a few posts from Aoon who seems to really rate it and has went back to it from a Milltek setup too. Keeps it warranty safe standard aswell.

I'll just have to make do with the black tips haha. They look nice up close but when 30-40m behind an RS sports exhaust, they do get lost in the rear diffuser whereas the chrome tips stand out.

Do you think you'll be modifying in any way, whether it just be a tuning box again?

Yes, I'll most probably be putting a TTE625 hybrid into it and tuning for around 575 to keep it on the standard internals. Tuner will be MRC. I'll need that extra bit of oomph seeing as I give in to temptation and ordered the heavy Pano roof.

I wouldn't use a tuning box on the RS3, it was my only option a few years ago when I had my S3 as there weren't any tuner maps available when I had it.

Now that's what I call a good excuse to tune..."the pano roof weighs an incredible 25kg so I must increase power by nearly 50%"!

I'm close to pulling the trigger on an MRC stage 1 map for mine. Spoke to Doug and know their work is second to none. It's just the inevitable warranty issues that are making me think twice. Thoughts?

Just received the official delivery date of my RS3 limousine.

11th of august. 2-3 weeks sooner than expected! Extremely hyped!

Cool. Dealer said my build week has come through already as week 37 which is first week in Sept. only issue is they may have to hold the release as it may end being delivered before the official launch date. Odd

It is the risk you take at the end of the day. There is a high probability that your car will be completely fine with just a Stage 1.

Its when you start pushing things (like I'll do with the 625 Hybrid) that things start getting a lot riskier.

For me with the new Alu engine, I'll be waiting 12-18mths or so until the Yanks have blown a few up before going ahead with big power. APR have just taken delivery of their RS3 Sedan and are getting to work on it already. I'm sure they will be testing the limits of this new engine. Twin injection on this new engine should be nice, hopefully no more heavily caked valves.

What is the official launch date? This in the U.K.?

By the looks of this thread most have added a good chunk of options, hopefully there will be plenty of standard cars so ours stand out at resale time

I am too liking the pan roof comment, s Stage1 tune would go really nice I feel :sunglasses:

Anyone know whats been done on the new TTRS 400PS engine? Are there maps available yet and if so what are they putting out?

Stage 2* on the PFL gets about 450hp and the same on the TTRS is about 500hp so the new engine does seem to tune up a bit easier.

TX.

I said to my dealer that if the car came thru before the end of Aug, I'd want to wait for the 67 plate option, to which he also said he couldn't release one of these cars before a Sept date (didn't catch the exact date.......)

Are ceramic brakes worth getting?
Thinking maybe more in resale value?

Won't be tracking the car and never had them on any other car.

It would put me off buying a car if I saw them, think of the cost to replace them when they wear out.... no thanks haha. £900 for front discs is enough for me.

Probably not worth getting for 99.9% of folk.

I have had an interest in brakes for quite a while and for the amount they cost as an option on this car, there wasn't any way I was going to not give em a whirl. I do quite a lot of driving on fast roads and little within towns so I'm keen to see how they perform. The car I'm in at the moment is an Audi RS Q3 and the brakes on that are the best of any car I've ever had. That being said, its the only car I've ever had with eight pot calipers on the front.

Does anyone know how many pistons are in the standard callipers? Have seen a review stating 8 and another stating 6?

Just tried to add the Extended Upholstery Pack to my October 16th build and I have been told that the car is "no longer amendable" due to it being an RS and and exclusive colour.

Nah that's nonsense, I altered mine last week and added TPMS! You can alter it up until the date it is locked in which won't be until late September.

To be clear on this, dealers normally won't change anything on your chosen spec once you reach two weeks (approx) prior to your build date. Obviously the factory cannot alter build requests, as the parts have already been ordered in for your vehicle. Some dealers can't be ***** to do the necessary paperwork and will try to blow you away with it can't be altered, when there is infact still time to amend the spec. You just gotta be cute on when your placed your order and the proposed build date to know if you're being brushed off...........

Supposedly it is a 2 minute job to change spec, I don't understand why they are lying on this occasion.

BW36, which is 4th Sept - spec was changed on Monday this week as if it wasn't I'd be getting a lucky dip! I best not be getting a lucky dip...

It is, I re-specced my order yesterday no probs. Another case of a lazy salesman.

As you say, these don't get locked down until 2-3wks before build. With an October build date, telling a customer they can't change spec in July is taking the pis*
