Are they trying to knock out all the diesels before the bottom drops out of the market .
It is the devils fuel you know, responsible for all the things wrong with the environment especially in built up areas.
Apart from that it does look like a generous discount.

@Bristle Hound, sounds a good deal; I'm not in tune with the 3-Series life cycle, so is that a run-out discount like we got with out B8.5 S4s? Or is there soemthing more sinister going on to explain the discount? I came to the S4 from a re-mapped B7 3.0TDi Quattro; not to the same degree as some, but it was a very fast car, with incredible low-down torque. But for all that, there's was something rather joyless about it. The redline at just over 4,000 rpm, the diesel rattle (especially from winter cold-starts) that made it sound like a canal barge at idle. And that's before you get to the smell and the smoke.

It was my first foray into diesel, and whilst I loved the car, I won't be going back.

@jdp1962 - Doing a bit of research Jeff & it looks like there is a new 3 series coming out in 2018
The G20 (code name for the new model) mk7 3 Series is expected to be revealed at the 2017 Frankfurt Motorshow in September and should go on sale in 2018

So yes your probably right they are 'run out' models. What I do find strange is the current 3 series has just had a facelift, LCI in BMW speak
Looking at the spec of the 'Shadow Edition' it looks like the Audi Black Edition spec wise. Bigger wheels, upgraded sound system, black exterior detailing etc
On my S4 deal I didn't reach the lofty heights of a 26% discount altho' I was happy with what I got to be fair
& yes @desertstorm diesel is the devils fuel lol

It was my first foray into diesel, and whilst I loved the car, I won't be going back.

Around £1500 less on the 340i Jeff
Deposit contribution on the 340i is £3500 whereas the 335d is £5000
BMW offering 2.9%APR finance too

The discounts are huge on the 3 series at the moment but then the residuals are lower so in a way it evens itself out. After owning 3 BMWs (currently an M235i) I have been Looking at the 340i for a while however as mentioned the next generation is due next year which will be the newly named M340i which I didn’t want to wait for so have ordered an S4.

Having said that the 340i Shadow Edition is a tempting prospect!
