Long time lurker, but first post. Have found all of the conversation and debate extremely helpful. Have an order for a sportback RS3 current build week 31, very pleased. No stranger to audi having had a 8L S3 (my first brand new car), 8L S3, Mk 1 TT 3.2, Mk2 TT RS and currently a RFL 8V S3 and in-between various R and GTI VWs and an E92 M3 - so hopefully I can add some value to the forum.

That was in dynamic, wouldn't get any pops and you can tell with the tone of the note. In comfort it is a very flat, smooth noise.

The RS3 will be my 5th car, 3rd Audi.

- Ford Fiesta MK5 Zetec S 1.6
- Ford Fiesta EcoBoost Zetec S
- Audi A3 Sportback S Line 1.4TFSi
- Audi S3 Sportback FL
- RS3 Sportback (on order )

In total in the Audi range that I can recall I've driven, A1 (a few), A3 (several bottom to top of range), A4 (2 of our own, few of Audi's), A4 Allroad (our own), A5 Sportback (Audi's), A6 Allroad (our own and Audi's), TT Sport 1.8TFSi (Audi's).
Driven a GTI Clubsport (great car), then a few run of the mill cars.. girlfriends Corsa, Polo, Fiat 500, MG3 (awful car).

Then onto the interesting stuff; S3 (my own, 3 loan cars), RS3 (driven 4, rides in 4 others), RS4 (test drive), RS5 (test drive), S5 FL (test drive) and an R8 V10 Spyder on a track day.

Blades aren't an option on the SB. I normally hate the rotors, far too common and boring in most cases. But the RS3 has the 'carved' rotors with more aggressive lines and they look far better than those on all other cars in the range.

I was over to my dealer collecting my moms car and was talking to him a bit, had him draw up a offer for a RS3 Sedan with a decent spec list, I ticked Ara blue, the black rotors with the wider tires at the front, comfort pack (auto dimming and folding mirrors, seat heaters and lumbar support), super sports seats, alu race design, extended leather pack, Alu optics pack, VC, Matrix LED, 40:20:40 folding rear seat, magnetic ride, sports exhaust, reversing camera, B&O sound, extra USB outlet, Assistance pack (parking help Plus, active lane assist, adaptive cruise control up to 200 km/h) and extended warranty to 4 years.

Any good options I missed?

They want around £58k for that so I would be getting a 8% discount, a little less than I expected but it is what it is. Apparently looking at september for their demo car to come in if I want to test drive it.

I live in Sweden and here we can get discounts no problem, the 8% discount is most likely taken from the dealers profit margin as I don't think Audi Sweden is giving the dealers and discounts on the RS3.

Sedan, Mom, 200kmh? What country do you live in? Mom and Sedan are American words, 200kmh is mainly European. None of those words/terms used in Britain though.

If you are UK based what dealer offered 8% discount? Although I have family discount with my dealer I'm sure everyone else with orders in would like to hear what dealer is offering this.

Also, what extra USB?

I have ordered one blind, I drove the PFL and I am trusting that the new one will be as good. I will still drive one before mine arrives hopefully, but my order is finalised.

Ah right okay, if you change it to S then the only difference is the same as the S3.. higher idle.

They’re an option on the SB in NZ, too. Not heard of anyone ordering them though.

Oh yeah forgot about that. I'm so used to the car starting up in Dynamic D mode then having to change drive modes to get the actual Dynamic.

I saw a video of a guy reviewing the new RS3 and he said that the noise changes from individual (dynamic) to dynamic D then dynamic S.

Yeah I think there will be a difference in noise but as terminator x said, if the guy in the video changed to Dynamic, it would automatically be in S mode.

I agree I think the Saloon has looks of the old RS4, I think I read that they expect the sales to be 60% sportback 40% saloon (not sure if that is a UK only figure or for all markets). I did manage to get a discount, just over 3%, not much but better that nothing. I negotiated with 3 dealers one would not give any discount the other two would match one another ultimately I went with the dealer closest to home and also managed to get a few other bits and pieces thrown in.

I've now worked out the discount by spec'ing my build online again and adding matrix LED at £895 (can't add on configurator) and it should be £56470 with GAP at full retail.
I'm paying £53071 so discount's actually £3399 or around 6%

I let lucky with the timings because the car was on Broadspeed for a couple of days with £2115 discount.
Spec'd the car, took pics of the website and confirmation emails with me to the dealer.
Dealer matched the price and took off the £199 fee as well.
Then the Broadspeed saving reduced the day after I signed.
All over a 48 hour period.

And it's now being built in August not September.

Think that's my luck used up for the rest of the year.
