I had the Bola ZZRs on my PFL A3, the vossen CVT look a likes

Hi everyone, sorry to sound like a noob but I’ve been reading this to try and find out what wheels I can buy for my A3 that won’t rub. But I’m not any wiser lol, all the different numbers and different wheel and tyre set ups and thrown me. I understand what the numbers are but not what is the best set up for me.
I would like the RS6 replica wheels I’ve seen in black. They are 19 8.5J. Just not sure on the offset. What offset would I need for 19 8.5J? And I see most people use 235/35/19 tyres, will they work?

I would suggest ET45 otherwise they'll poke too much on the front wheels (Mine are ET45 and are completely flush with the arches). The tyres should be 235/35/19 as you mention yourself.

Below you can see my setup which is the same you're talking about with the RS6 reps:

Thank you so much for the reply. You’ve confirmed what the wheel bloke has said to me about it being better at ET45. He’s not got them in stock but will be getting them in a month or so.
I don’t suppose you have a picture of the full side of the car with the wheels in do you? Just so I have an idea what the 19’s will look like?
Thanks again

interesting read, ive got s3 saloon, the shop where ive been looking at wheels says et35 will fit fine. He said thats 17mm in total poke on the standard wheels ive got now. other option is et45. Want to go 19 x 85 and et35 but need to see what they look like.

Here is 19x8.5 et45 with 10mm spacer all around so final offset is 35. I'll get a pic at ride height for you soon.

I have a chance to buy a set of 20" forged wheels with ADVAN V105 tires with no kms off a brand new TT for my 2015 A3 S-Line. The dimensions are 20 x 9, ET 52. Any idea if this will fit? It's kinda a odd size so I'm having trouble finding out if they will fit. Maybe it's possible with a spacer? Thanks in advance!

Sportback or saloon?

What kind of fender mods are you guys running to avoid rubbing? I know the front fenders have this big bolt in the fender line that is the first one rub but how have you guys modded that? Pictures perhaps?

Hi have you got any more pictures? I have read a guy on here with 8.5x19 with 255/30/19 and that would be nice. I don’t understand people putting 8.5 and above rims putting 235/35 tyres on. This increase corner weight for no reason.

I have mounted 35 profile for comfort, might go for 255/30 next time.

Hi quick question would a set of wheels 235x35x19 8,5 offset 40 , fit my A3 sportback 2014 sline? This wheels are from a s4 , would they poke too much?

Anyone is running 245/35/19 on a sportback?

Also, did you notice any MPG change after getting wider tyres (225 > 235 > 245)?

I will probably go for 255 35 19x8 all round :)

That is a very aggressive tyre for an 8" rim 245 35 19 is max and not ideal width, 235 is.....I run 245 35 19 on a 19 x 8.5
When I saw local tyre fitter, how he was fitting tyres mghh, so so TIGHT and I have 235 now he was struggling to put tyre on the wheel so 255 will be much easier and not so stiff bit of slack just 2cm wider 1cm from one side and 1cm from other side.. When I asked guy if 255 would fit he straight answered of course it would .. there are no big differences when u doing 1 or 2cm difference
Imagine those who has very wide wheel and stretching extremely very narrow tyres .. and u see it works ... :)

You have also changed the height profile going from 235 to 255......Your tyre fitter is a wee bit suspect of tyre sizing dynamics.

he is not mine .. i was at random as he gave me only £30 all wheels change as I was swapping from 18'' to 19'' so I spent a time there asking.. he said he done many strange or abnormal better said fittings on customers requests... When he was fitting 235's it looked like it is fit very very tight thought it would explode when he put air in it ..
how can be height changed? it is all same tyres just 2cm wider.. not changing profile will keep at 35.
30 is too thin skinny
