It took me 7 months, but I finally launched the S3 for the first time and got it on video. Figured you guys might be interested in this. Compared to the Evo IX that I had before this, I was pretty impressed. I've also heard that a tune will really liven the launch up.

I have launched mine a couple of times and it is very impressive especially with a stage 1 map!

Not something I would do very often as my engineering brain switches on and just keep thinking that this cant be great for the car in the long run haha

I had my car for 3 months before I tried a launch. Fantastic fun. Had to do it 3 times then get my friend to launch the car whilst I watched from outside. :hubbahubba:

I'm not an engineer, but I still think the same way. It's probably something I'll do every once in awhile to remind myself how quick the car can be. I'm definitely not the type that'll launch the car at every other red light.

I used LC about 15 times on the trot at Rockingham recently. Didn't miss a beat then or since. FYI 3.6s to 60, standard car albeit RS3.

PS you only need one press to turn off ESC if you like, don't need full off by holding it down. Also once LC is enabled you can use it any time you like on the journey!

So wait. What is the difference between one press ESC off and hold down ESC off?

ESC once is "sport mode" which is mostly off to loosen the car up a bit whilst full press and hold is all off. Imho the car bogs down a bit when all off vs just a press.

Interesting. I'll have to test it both ways back to back to see if I notice a difference.
