Hi there

Hope many someone can help me

My interior blower fan stoped working so I removed it and tested the live feed and there is a live, connected the fan direct to battery and fan spins fine, connceted the fan back to Car and fan span for a brief while then stoped so thought the fan was faulty so ordered a new fan unit and connected the new fan and nothing... not working atall. All fuses seem to be fine is there any relays hidden away that I can check? I wondered if maby the signal is disrupted somehow?

Thanks in advance

May be a good idea to scan with vcds see if there are any faults.

Have you tested that the climate control is sending a signal to the fan unit. There is a small wire in the connector to the fan that changes voltage as you increase the fan speed on the climate control. Use a multimeter. Mine had the same issue but I just replaced the controller on the fan, the bit with the heat sink

Thanks I have not check to see if voltage is detected in the signal wires so I will check this

I have checked the smaller wires and the black one ranges from 2 volts up to around 8 when the fan speed is increased on the climate unit dose this seem right?

Yeah if it goes up and there's power too you have the right signals to the fan controller. It must be the controller on the fan unit

Ha Han it's driving me mad as I have had the old controller tested and it's fine but not working and I brought a new fan unit and controller and that is also not working, the only wire not getting a live is the big brown one that I assume is the earth going to have to admit defeat and take it go the garage, I can only get the fans to work with a 12v if I unplug it from the control unit and connect the live and neutral to the small fan connector that fits into the controller I cannot get them to work when I try and connect a love and neutral to the control unit with the fan connected to the control unit if that makes sense

Disconnect and reconnect the battery, was it a vcds scan you hado done ?
The garage have had the car and scanned etc no faults and they can only get a live to the fan for abut 3 seconds then nothing they replaced a part they thought could be the problem but did not fix and they don't want to touch it any further. Would replacing the climate control unit fix it? Is there a resistor/ controlor for the fan inside the unit?
