Avant Rear Cycle Carrier (S-Line)

Anyone managed to find/use one? When I check the usual manufacturers (Thule etc.) their compatibility checkers don't seem to like the B9 Avant.

I'm talking about the boot carriers, whereby they strap onto the tailgate. I've got roof mounted carriers but would like a solution to carry the kids' bikes rather than getting a tow bar fitted.

The rear mounted ones out me off esp with modern cars I can't see them not marking/ denying the tailgate/bumper I'll go removable tow bar if we decide to go for it.

I've selected my car on their website and it says only tow ball mounted carriers are compatible? I was wondering if its the rear spoiler that causes an issue?

The website does not show the older model that I have. The two top legs
Tuck in under the spoiler and the two bottom legs sit on the rear bumper.

I'm away at the moment but will send a picture later in the week.

Sorry for the delay - had forgotten and then saw it in the garage today and remembered lol. Anyway this is the Saris Bones 3 - as it holds 3 bikes but there is a Saris Bones 2. As you can see it fits nicely on the rear bumper and on the rear window. The straps all tuck away in the centre tube. I haven't attached them but you can see it sits nicely there under its own weight!

Sorry for the late reply, was having login issues with my fb account! Thanks for the pics. Have you actually used this on the car? Where do you attach the straps?

I thought that the plastic spoiler might not give it the security it needs, but if you've been ok with yours I may start looking on eBay for one!

Can anyone confirm if the Saris options listed for A4 would work on an S4 Avant B8.5? The Halfords site seems to suggest they do

As far as I have read in the past you cannot use any these carriers that attach with straps on an avant. It would be cool if there was one as I was planning on adding hitch to use the hitch supported carriers. This would be much cheaper and easier. On saris website you can search for racks compatible with A4 Avant and nothing shows up. On Halfords website it says it might not fit. I'm sure it will fit but something like the rear spoiler might come off with it.

I got loads of options selecting the A4 Avant! The question is whether the A4 has the spoiler too
