LOST SERVICE BOOK!

Hey guys,

I have a 13 plate audi a1, bought from a reputable garage (skoda main dealership) last year.
I think the cam belt is due soon so I was looking for the service book and can't seem to find it!

I dont think the garage i bought from supplied me with one.
They just gave me an a4 sheet printed with "Service History Certificate" on it?? That just states what type of service it has had, the date and the milage at the time. It doesn't state where this work was carried out.

The car has just had 1 previous owner and I know which Audi dealership the car was bought from originally.
Can I just pop into the main audi dealership where the car was bought from and request a new service book and for them to stamp it accordingly if it has had its service from them?

What is the best way ahead?

For your age car there is no longer a service book with stamps in it. Just a small booklet ("Audi Service Schedule") and a place for storing the service sheets ("Service Record"). The inside cover has all the cars option codes so its an important book.

Hi there, yes I have the "Audi Service Schedule" booklet and that does contain all the codes in the first page.
but in the compartment for the service record, I just have a A4 printed sheet entitled "Service History Certificate" which seems to be printed from Skoda, but does contain what service it has had carried out, the date and milage. So is this classed as the "service book"?

Yes that's it.

Audi have gone all computerised so no longer use old style books/stamps. Note that you can also log in to MyAudi and get the same /similar information about service record for your car. The online version also shows who did the service, assume the A4 sheet does as well ?

The car itself should tell you when next oil change / inspection is due.

Just feels weird not having a service book with the old stamps.
I have uploaded the a4 sheet what came with the car? is this classed as the service record? After speaking with Audi customer services, they confirmed that the service history listed in the pic is correct with what they have on the system.

If you ever get it serviced at Audi you could ask them to print off a new sheet? Ultimately Audi can confirm when the car has been serviced as you found from Audi CS.

I think anyone can service it as long as they follow the right procedures and components and log it with Audi. I'd suggest logging in / setting up on My Audi (you need the VIN) and see what it says in terms of who did what and when.

The idea is there is no service book to lose, but Audi also benefit by getting more control over the servicing as it makes it harder to go outside the network.

something off related, do you know when the cambelts are due on the 13 plate A1's? its done 65k miles.

For the cambelt replacement its best to phone an Audi dealer and see what the latest advice is for your car. At one point they were different for petrol/diesel.

In my 2013 book it says 133,000 miles for 1.4 tFSI/1.6TDI/2.0TDI. An earlier 2011 bulletin showed lifetime for all the TFSIs and 133k for the Diesel.

I think the TFSIs have a chain and the TDIs have a poly belt.

Rang them and they said every 5 yrs or something over 100k miles, whatever comes first. So dont think mine is due til next year.
