Facelift First RS 3 Saloon to NZ buyer?

Found a Daytona Grey RS3 Saloon with Black Pack on Instagram. It's at an Audi showroom in Mexico.

Nice to see some fresh pics! The red calipers look great with Ara blue... good to have confirmation that I made the right choice

I thought the rear is supposed to be red as well. May be there is something covering it this picture somehow.?

This landed somewhere, still has packaging material on it.
Mine is going to be the same Glacier White/Alu-optics.
Paying off mine tomorrow and I'm going to have it in 6 days. I'm hyped.

Wow glacier white looks better than I thought it would. Any pics from the side? The Mexico guy posted an interior video with the virtual cockpit and red stitching seats.

Not my pic or account, just a random Instagram find.

And that rs design package and lcd screen look really great. Audi really nailed the screen. Makes Mercedes screens look very cheap in comparison.

Saw this daytona rs3 sitting in the delivery bay today when I went in to do get my car registration done.

Post pics of yours when you get it. I think the Daytona with black pack looks better from the pics I've seen.

The white with ZERO (black / alu) pack looks great

You sure that's not alu-optics? I've not seen a body-color trim option yet; just alu-optics (standard) and black optics (optional). Either way, I like it on the white. Looks nice.

On the PFL you could get the black pack or ally pack which most of us spec'd however you could have left it as standard which would have been body coloured spoiler etc.

Nice. In the US (and Canada), "standard" = alu-optics (there is no body coloured option, although alu-Optics has a body-coloured spoiler). Would've been nice to have that option for sure.

Yeah that white one has the alu-optics.

Here's all the shots I took of the daytona grey. Wasn't really paying attention during the snaps, so some of them came out too dark.

Apologies ah yes it does have the extra alu trim along the lower section of the bumper doesn't it.

But it doesn't need it IMO - not in white anyway.

Saying that ...... the black optics pack against white paint could look amaazing !

My RS3 is here. Don't mind the crudely edited number plate.

My friend brought out his mclaren 650s to play.

The sound is absolutely monstrous. Also, yeah the pops and bangs when downshifting are gone, you've got slight overrun burble instead.
Car doesn't really keep up with the 650s, but it kinda does in sound.

Get it warm and in dynamic mode, then downshift at about 4000rpm. It should hopefully pop and bang for you still?

Yep, black looks awesome but it's very hard to manage here. Gets covered in dust 40 mins after cleaning, ceramic coating doesn't really help.

Nope it doesn't. I've driven the PFL and that popped and banged effortlessly. This has a bunch more crackles when revving in neutral though, the PFL in comparison had a few less crackles, but with a couple of loud pops thrown in.

The downshifts are slightly disappointing, but it will save my transmission in the long run. The PFL downshifts were contagious and I was banging at it the whole time.

The saloon really does look like its needs lowering at the front axle?!

It might be on its transport blocks still.
Although it looks like its all road ready so hmm.
Does look high though ?

Mine looks a bit lifted in the front as well, there's a three finger gap. The rear has a two and a half finger gap.
I doubt it's shipping pucks. All of the sedans we've seen have the gap. Not really something you notice when looking at the car in real life though .
I'll try getting some exhaust vids tomorrow.

That photo of the white one with the TTRS is taken in Queenstown, New Zealand where they are doing the offical RS3 Sedan and TTRS launch at the moment.

I'm quite pleasantly surprised how good the sedan looks in white.

It looks quite sporty in white.

Great colour for the sedan.

Is it me, but I don't think the FL front end is as menacing as the Pre-FL. I'm not being bias, just an observation. Great motor though @yoi. Welcome
to the club.

Looks a lot better in white than expected.... Might be a nice wrap if i get it in ara blue.

Bangs and pops could be fixed with an ecu upgrade or a full exhaust upgrade, but no aftermarket items have been released afaik

Those TTRS alloys are flippin horrendous !!!!!!!!

Well to the new owners, you are going to enjoy these machines. My first proper blast down some country lanes since getting the car back in February... 26.1 miles at 20.3mpg. Glorious.

And to the black RS3 with alu pack who blast past me the opposite way while I was waiting at some roadworks...your car sounded incredible...if they sound good from the inside, then from the outside it is 10x better, if that's possible!

It does sound x10 better on the outside. The popcorn machine/gunshots on downshifts are gone, but it still crackles on downshifts >2.5k rpm and the dsg farts are as loud as ever, it's not all bad.

Here's a good comparison. The TTRS is the new sound. The exhaust sounds more refined now IMO.

I can see why you say more refined and I think I agree, sounds more like it was designed to be that way. But missing those bangs? Really disappointing.

Maybe the secondary decat delete will help?

They definitely sound amazing from the outside.
Best experienced in a built up area with high buidlings to bounce & amplify the sound.
Wind down windows and listen to that glorious soundtrack when it hits 3,500 rpm.
You can do it safely in a 30 mph zone from 1st and not driving like a loon either.
You can get disapproving looks from people on paths though who do think you are racing because of the sheer magnitude of the sound volume ha ha.
Some people clearly $hi7 themselves when they hear you coming - it can be quite fun and addictive :bluecar::dashsymbol::boom::dashsymbol::boom::speakerthree::speakerthree::sunglasses:
It is quite amazing that these sports exhausts are standard factory fitted
