No chance. Those with a decent spec that would have come in at circa £48k and which have done average mileage (say 20k miles over the two years) are up for about £38k. They won't necessarily get that either. I'd bank on the new one being similar, so £10-12k over two years. Certainly not £3k.
Well the current rs5 you can buy now 3 years old for £37k, so I suppose it's about average for Audi depreciation wise. I can see Audi offering 13% deals on rs5s pretty quickly though as the m4 and c63 you can both buy for about 10k less than a standard rs5 is. And even worse a 6 month old c63 is under £50k for a basic spec

What annoys me about the FL RS3 is that the interior is now almost 5 years old. It came out in 2012/2013 with the 8v A3 and hasn't changed. The all new A3 platform will be out no doubt in 2018.
Audi really annoy me with this ****. Like with the TTRS - what the hell happened there?? They make a car, develop it, spend god knows how much sorting it out and then they can't even sell any more than the initial allocation. Is the same thing going to apply to the RS3? Can you even spec it? Why can't we spec one now? So frustrating.

Yeah the above is an issue to me also.
I will be ordering a new car September 18 for March 19 delivery. I'm not even sure if the RS3 will be available by then if it has a short order run again.
If it is available then the 8v will be towards the end of its life expectancy with a new platform due - but RS model could be 2 years away - even an S could be a year away.
Whilst it's a lovely car I'm not sure getting an 8v early 19 or even late 18 if I got one before production ends would be a good idea considering the cars age by then.
I suspect the 'most sensible' solution would be to hang on to my current RS for what could be 4 years and wait for the new platform S3 but I've never had a car for that long so can't see that happening.
The other problem for me now is that I look at the S4 & S5 interiors and think 'WOW' so those cars are tempting me, but I guess even those will be due face lifts in a couple of years so I'm not sure what I will do when I'm due a change.

I don't see much sense in what you said last going off. The TTRS? We all know the reason why, the AC used Argon gas which was illegal 2017 on. A revised AC system will see the car return end of the year probably.
Why can't we spec an RS3 now? Maybe because it hasn't be released? No we can spec one now, because it hasn't been released yet for anybody to spec one! You can't configure a car that isn't being sold.

That still shows shows shocking product planning. It's not like someone suddenly decided that Argon based AC would be illegal tomorrow. They would have known way in advance.
Seriously, is that the reason why you can't order a TT-RS? The AC Gas used?
Must be more to it than that, surely. They sell every other Audi, which must use the same AC units. Must be a simple swap or something like that? How can one variant of the whole Audi range be affected, but not others?
For those that got the initial allocation cars, the value must be holding very well, as very limited stock. However, weren't the allocation cars specced up very high? £70k+ cars?

I'm pretty sure that was the official reason. Whatever it is, it's (typically) shocking from Audi.
However, I much prefer the RS3's butch looks to the TTRS. Although I prefer the interior of the TT and the lower kerb weight is handy for performance.

Yep that is the final reason, they all had to be sold/registered by 31st December, or they couldn't be supplied to the public. Reason my dealer had a registered on in the showroom with 10 miles on in 2017.
TTRS is rumoured to be coming back after the RS3.
Not saying you're not wrong, as if that's what been said by Audi. But how can every other TT be sold? As they'll all share the same AC units, surely?

Most UK cars including roadsters had below average spec but all came with the 174 mph derestricted option, Audi saved all the high specced cars for Germany
Car magazine has a fully loaded car on test just now, it's on youtube battling against the M2 and the Porsche 718 S, it's even got OLED tail lights and the Audi exclusive 2 tone leather interior,so yeah well into mid £70k price bracket, l have only saw one other TTRS specced as high as this and it was in a German showroom.... Funny money for a TT, the RS3 saloon will easily hit £65k if you wanted
That's what was said by Audi but most likely the car was only ever going to have a short period of production due the projected demand of such a niche model.... But saying that there are still some brand new unregistered models trickling through Audi UK dealerships at the moment

Correct, they will all have been registered 66 plates. Just might be sat in the showroom still 'brand new'

We all said it didn't we. RS3 on the roads in U.K. as new A3 platform announced. I wouldn't be spending money on something that is out of date on release. Just my opinion.

If the new RS3 is out in 2020, that would be perfect for me. I get bored easily but I absolutely love it at the moment. Unless I have a small lottery win where I can afford a 911 Turbo or the like, there's nothing out there at my price point which ticks so many boxes.
Don't you think Production will run for around a year again for the FL RS3 ?
6 months would be a bit short.

As an existing and selfish current owner, I'm hoping the price of the FL is sky high and production short lived. And that it's not as loud! That will hopefully keep the residuals of the pre-FL relatively strong.
Even 12 months of availability is a short run though isn't.

There are a couple of 66 plate PFL RS3's I've seen on autotrader. I was hoping the FL RS3 would be out by Sept/October time. I actually was just looking through a thread on here from last year with rumours on the FL and its release, so its funny it hasn't come out yet.

Indeed. At least I'm being honest!
I always said I'd buy an RS3. If you recall, I had a new one on order back in March or whenever it was last year. It was only when I right **** up at the dealer meant I didn't get it. I was then loathe to pay such a high price for a used one. A super deal came up through a contact though and I took the plunge. Haven't looked back since. Great car!
The Audi UK site currently states saloon RS3 arriving late 2017.

Thanks for the reply.... the S3 is also an option and it's cheaper, but the delivery time is 4 month's. a45 has good discounts now that is in the end of it's life.
